Spot on again Crowthrice. We have a covered area for 100+. The ground criteria (both 1988 and 2010) doesn't require seats. We also have enough shower heads , and our pitch meets the minimum size dimensions - cough, Treharris, cough, cough... 60 yards from the pitch? Nah, that's Leckwith Stadium ;D Ian - i don't care if it's a sad thing to say. I've tried being pragmatic when i post on here, simply putting across what i believe is a fair and considered opinion (opinions are neither right nor wrong - that's the beauty of living in a democracy), and i'm happy to listen to other opinions because that what this site is for, but let's be honest most people are only interested in "shouting and balling" and name calling. Ely hater - great question. But this is what the problem is. Half the clubs thought it was ground criteria followed by league position, and the other half were convinced it was league position only. Thus we have appeals from those clubs who feel cheated/lied-to etc. Why else would clubs such as Troedyrhiw shell out thousands on their ground if they thought relegation was going to be decided only by league position? They'd be nuts to do it otherwise, surely?

Totally bemused an apt name I think. You are telling me there were just over 3 penalty areas length between me and the pitch.
Bloody hell I going to the optician tomorrow to tell him my eyesight is improving after all these years. Its a miracle I think I'll throw away my calipers as well.

If you were under the covered area - that is exactly what I am saying yes, and that is just from the near touchline!!

An earlier post by totally bemused stated, we just want to play football you mug! And I am afraid that is it in a nutshell. Counting Crows you are on a hiding to nothing posting on this thread. At the end of the day no matter how many facts you have at your disposal it will make no difference. Some people, probably with clubs who are not affected by all this want to play football and sod every one else. We want what we want as well and we are delaying what they love to do. I fully understand their position and to a certain degree sympathize with them, but all this squabbling on here is only because people ain't getting what they want.
And of course our action with this appeal could be said to be the same thing.
Life is unfortunately not always black and white, I do not pretend to be clever enough to understand all these appeals and FAW rulings, or who is wrong or who is right, but I understand when people are throwing their toys out the pram! And yes I am aware that could be said of us to.
Lets all calm down, we are all football people who will have to live together long after this has been sorted one way or the other.

I have watch with utter horror at some of the attitudes of some people who regularly post on here and think, ‘My God’, would I want this person writing on here about everything and anything on Welsh Football under the name of my club? MY answer would be, ‘No thank you very much. The harm that is being done to the reputation, not only to himself, but to HIS CLUB is there for all to see. Their welcome at the majority of league clubs this season will, no doubt, be a cool one, which will be down to what has been posted on the website. To these people I say, ENOUGH!!! Gentlemen, can we please put an end to this unbelievable situation, I am sure that Lee Robson’s idea of a Welsh League website was for the good of Welsh Football. I don’t think on reading some of the threads on here that can be said at the moment. I say, let the players play and the managers manage and the Welsh League football supporter enjoy his football, and ‘The Posters’ LOG OFF!!!!

Thank you 'Mature Supporter'. I have been reading and wondering whether I had done the right thing getting the board together; what with all the vitriol etc. Ironically I set it up because I didn't think that the clubs had had a chance to debate the changes last year and it all felt that we were making decisions with only half the information.
Did it help this season? Has it helped? I think if you cut through the bluster and banter then there are enough facts to help clubs make decisions one way or another so in that sense it has been a help. Maybe it also flushed out stuff that has been simmering for years which was not so edifying.
An earlier post was right though. There was no way this could end favourably for everyone. Even what was right for your own club was unfair for others. In my deliberations I tried to balance the two and take the longer view. My test is whether I can justify my position anywhere at any time so I am happy with the decsions we took as a club. I also think on balance the 'board' has been a help. Democracy has a habit of delivering 'the greatest good for greatest number'. Not always fair but so long as people have had a chance to influence the outcome then it may be the best we're ever going to get - in life as well as footie!

Let me apologise if my views have caused anger here. For what it's worth i agree with Crow61's understanding of the situation.
However, when posting I've never been nasty, never called people names, and have never told someone that their opion is wrong. I'm a memebr of many message boards so i know the protocols. There are posters who have resorted to nastiness and name-calling. I'm not one of them.
I've just posted my opion on matters, and, when in posession of facts, have relayed them. My problem is that i can't stop myself from defending my club when i think they are doing the right thing. Again, i apologise, but i ain't going to change!
This will be my last post on the subject, and Lee, i hope i haven't caused you to think about closing the forum.

No, the Board stays open. You have to take the rough with the smooth on these things and try not to take it personally.(unless of course it is personal.

Thank you Lee. I think you have created a vehicle for people to let off steam unfortunately some people take things a bit to far.
Every club has taken a stand that suits their own circumstances and have every right to do so.
Perhaps if they had not followed like sheep in the past we would not be where we are now.
To the Welsh League Management Committee I would say that it is a sad indictment of their management that this comes to such a stage.
To my mind their role is :
to support clubs who are endeavouring to provide a sporting outlet for local communities.
to represent the interest of the clubs at FAW level.
to inform clubs of rules ,mandates etc and point out a range of options for clubs to vote on.
to listen to clubs needs through regular meetings ,questionnaires etc.
to provide a fair level of competition and manage any disputes.
From comments on this board and others I don't know what the 1988 criteria is and assume the other criteria referred to is the one on the Welsh League website. Are they specific , able to be policed, achievable, realistic, and transparent?
The comments seem to suggest that a majority of clubs fail on some parts of the criteria. Are we saying there are only a few who satisfy them completely? If so then they must be totally unrealistic.
Lee I think all Welsh League Management Committee members should be made to read these boards to get a flavour of frustation that people are feeling

Thank you Lee, hopefully we can all move on now and work together for 'The Greater Good'. That being PLAYING football and not just TALKING about it. I am sure that the WFL will have it about them to work WITH US on a way forward. I just hope it is sooner rather than later. Good post from Crowthrice, lets hope that the WLMC take you adivice. I would like to wish ALL CLUBS the best of luck for the forthcoming season, no matter which league your club is in. Lets hope that won't be to far away.

I hear after a meeting today with 9 of the Welsh Football Clubs that a letter has been produced by the FAW stating that they have never made a decision on insisting the League reverts to 48 clubs. (Fact). All Welsh League clubs need to be aware of these facts. It appears the WFL Committee have lied through their teeth just to get a motion passed and start the season. This i also believe is going to press throughout South Wales. Welsh League Clubs please take note of this as the WFL have let all of you down. (Watch this space)

Watch this space indeed its time you stepped aside Mr big gun you are supposed to be representing the clubs not forwarding your own views . The case is now in the hands of solicitors i was told today and its not looking good for the welsh football league committee .. The league will revert back to 18 18 and 18 is the latest!!

The trouble is now the WL committee wont accept that it is their problem. Whos problem is it? This committee have let the clubs down badly and should be ashamed of themselves. Will they be there at christmas? Doubt it, Big time.
Please just acknowledge that you got it SO WRONG and let the bottom clubs back in. And lets have an honest and open discussion about where we go from here.

If all this is true - and i've heard info on this too - and the WLC has indeed made these huge 'mistakes', then perhaps it's time for the FAW to fund one or two permenant personnel on a more professional League Management Board rather than relying on volunteers to run what is a pretty important league?
