The grass pitch Ponty play on at USW is superb and maintained to a very high standard. A few of our supporters have said that Ponty Park is in a very poor state due to lack of maintenance.Piqueblinders3 is quite right with his information about the new 3G Facility which is what we have been told from the beginning. The changing rooms have already been built and are to a very high standard. This new facility will be at Tier 1/2 Level. Not true pitch looked great last tuesday

This is Billy Hillman and I want to make a comment on this debate, but it is only my opinion. I obviously support Ponty because of Scott, the team my heart follows is my home city, Cardiff, where I started to attend Ninian Park in 1966. As a Cardiff supporter, I am of course elated that we will be playing in the Premier again, especially with Warnock now as the best manager in all of my 60 years as a Bluebird. If we had a grond live Newport County and had to move to a stadium like Cardiff City Stm to meet Premier League rules, I'd agree in a heartbeat. Being a Bluebird is more important than where we play. Look at the problem at West Ham, even Premier teams sometime have to move to uncomfortable grounds. But we are talking Welsh League. It isn't reasonable the demands the FAW makes on teams that can't generate income to cover the demands. Scott played his youth with Premier League clubs like Chelsea and teams like Celtic and Welsh caps from U14 to the U17 European Championships, then went Welsh League starting in the Premier but the because of the travel just Div 1 with Grange Quinns, Barry Town, Afon Lido, Bridgend Town, Pen y Bont, Taffs Well and Cardiff Corries, usually either following a friend or a manager, Corries being both (Lee Bridgeman and Danny Hooper). Then a few years ago, Danny asked Scott to drop to Div 3 and go with him to Ponty. Best move ever. Scott loves Ponty and to be honest, I love it there as well. Best club he has played for. As far as I know, I get on with everyone, all the players, supporters, committee, everyone and also as far as I know, so does Scott. We are very happy at the brilliant club and I will be very suprised if Scott doesnt stay here for the rest of his playing days (except maybe if they go to the Prem where Scott stopped last time, too much travel). As far as I also know, rules from other meant leaving Ponty (which I really liked) and move to USW (which I really don't like) and now to Leckwith (which for me and I guess Scott being Grangetown boys is great). I get it that not playing in Ponty is disappointing, but I think this has been forced on the club by others but as I said, better football for Cardiff wouldn't deter me if we had to go to Newport to meet League demands and obviously I know it is different for me following Ponty because I am watching my son and I would have preferred to stay in the park at Ponty, but we were forced out, me and Scott are from Cardiff, not Ponty, but if he is there for another 10 years I will go where ever they play. I think it is sad that there are warring factions within the club and of course, I am glad that both my son and I are not included in these arguements, but I do think some of it is way too personal and insulting.

The whole issue isn't about how much you and Scott like the club as you could both easily leave the club as Scott has done many times before! The issue is Ponty have left their home town and are distancing themselves more and more from Pontypridd every day ! What will happen in my opinion a new Pontypridd fc will play in Pontypridd and the current Pontypridd will no longer exist in a couple of seasons and they will be part of the past in Welsh league the same as many others that have chosen the same path.

Sustainability will be interesting. Leckwith has been the curse of a few clubs and they were Cardiff based so success for a valley club based there will be a real challenge. It’s an awful soulless facility , expensive and not a place that a club could make feel like home with their own designs and ideas. Basically Ponty are now just a booking on the Cardiff City Council Leisure and Amenities activity register

It’s like Sully -> Inter Cardiff -> Cardiff Met all over again.

Just to say, I totally agree that those who are Ponty Born and Bred have way more vested interest in this club than me and Scott, but as I said, for Scott, this is by a million miles the best club he has played for and although again you are right he could leave, but I'm willing to bet that he doesn't. He has just turned 30, so from now the years count down and it is all about enjoying football now, which here he really does. For myself you are absolutely correct. I really do love following Ponty now, but first and foremost I follow Scott. As for Scott having left many times before, he came once, many many years ago, encouraged by I think Nathan White (a player who I brought through youth football) just for half a season, not a very pleasant half season with the team full of players who had only come for the money and not at all enjoyable. So he left only once before (and actually to go from whatever Ponty were offering him to play for nothing at Cardiff Corries with Bridgey and Danny, because enjoying football has always been way above pay for play), but after half a season of ego's and players who played without any heart (something very important to Scott, committment, passion and heart). He went back because of Danny, but to a very different bunch of player, players who work for each other, who play with heart and passion and effort. I can see that there are some very upset supporters, ones far more worthy than myself as supporters and I can understand and accept loyalty expressing their views and opinions, but I really don't see any justification for personal insults and name calling attacts, regardless of points of view. I do though agree with anger against an attempt to lose the club identity. Scott played for Bridgend and they sold out to join Bryntirion and become Pen Y Bont and there were people who rejected that and ceased to be part of the club. I felt the same with Cardiff and they didn't change our name, just our colours and this was TOTALLY unacceptable. Maybe I am ignorant of some of the politics, but I can't see Ponty changing their name, just hope I am right.

I think if the club came out and said that they were returning to the new USW ground once it is built and that they would never become a University side, people may be a bit happier about it and stay supporting them. But the silence from the club is deafening.

Good God man Craig if you care to look at previous messages you will see that we and others on this forum have made it quite clear that Pontypridd Town fc will be be moving to the new 3G Facility at USW.The Cardiff Athletic Stadium is a temporary ground for us which has gained Tier 2 Certification and in the future our home ground will be at the USW at Treforest which is a district of Pontypridd. Our players, Management and loyal supporters are proud to be representing Pontypridd Town fc. 'Thou shall not covet your neighbour'

Your supporters are concerned that Pontypridd Town AFC will cease to be very soon and bat the club will become another Cardiff Met type Uni team. No-one at the club is saying that this won’t happen. Secondly, your supporters don’t all read this forum and many that do have never heard of you. Also, a post on a public forum about a club’s direction and intentions should never be taken as fact until it is publicly announced by the club. There’s nothing on your web site, which is your main Internet presence that people will go to looking for information. Why won’t the club make a statement as to what is happening so that supporters are informed ? Why doesn’t the club issue a statement saying that it will never become a University team ? I also find is strange that you misquote the 10th Commandment for no apparent reason whilst breaking the 3rd commandment in your post.

Meanwhile around the world people are being tortured, murdered and persecuted, it's only football guys, what is going to happen, will happen, life will go on regardless.
I do agree with Unclefester though, if the club put out a statement of intent and one of future planned direction then all this will be cleared up and the debate will be put to bed once and for all.

I think that a lot of people think it's unfair to have a large budget to pay players when other clubs are trying to improve their facilities and therefore don't pay players. Are you sure Scott and the other players would stay if the envelopes stopped coming or another local club offered more. No idea myself but remember seeing a lot of the same players playing for Ponty at the start of the season and leaving to join a relegation battle at the Quins, not that long ago.

Anyone can check with the Planning office. They dont exist . That biblical qoute is meaningless. What Loyal supporters ? And seeing as this is my only medium of communicatioon with my the club I used to support would you care to comment on the behaviour of your club officials and managers at Ammanford on saturday?

Well written Mr Hillman. If I listed the amount of hassle, personal abuse, and now lately threatened assault I hav e received off Pontypridd Town Fc it would need another thread. For me to copy and paste every single lie and threat towards me. Every single one of these started because I dared to ask questions and In a polite manner. I have no interest in Pontypridd Town anyomre.Be carefull what you wish for.
