Think clubs have to have a T1 licence and be in the top 3. So it’s possible D1 will run a club short next season.

Not sure what you are talking about counting crows you needed to have t2 approval by end of April for welsh league division one please see -All clubs participating in, or seeking promotion to, Division One of the League must have a Tier 2 Certfication
in accordance with the FAW’s Tier 2 Ground Criteria Regulations as amended by the FAW from time to time. Taken from Welsh fa website constitution and rules for 2017/18

Caldicot failed because they have something a lot of other clubs don’t have, floodlights, because they have floodlights they are required to have emergency lighting from the stands which they haven’t yet installed, if they didn’t have floodlights they would have passed. So in effect they are penalised for having a facility that isn’t part of the criteria, crazy or what.

As per usual the Welsh League has turned the whole Tier 2, promotions and relegation saga into a complete farce. With all this ground sharing and bending of the rules/requirements that's being allowed this is a kick in the face for the clubs that have worked hard to get their clubs up to Tier 2 standard. I can't believe that a club with the history and facilities of Caldicot have failed with their Tier 2 application yet a team like Ton Pentre with a pitch and ground that resembles a derelict building site get accepted ? Please tell me this is not true.

My clubs attitude on social media tonight is that moving to Leckwith is a " great acheivement " Anyone disagreeing with this stance is either having their posts removed or as usual being blocked or ignored. I am dismayed as are others that a club we support home and away has this attitude towards their own supporters. The club has little interest in keeping a presence in the town of Pontypridd and doesnt seem overly bothered if anyone from Pontypridd watches them. And are clearly not interested in free speech of any kind. Its called " Pontypridd Town " You have totally disrespected this. Yours quite honestly sick of this.

I feel for you. Who a club for? is it a vehicle for the mangers ambitions? or does it represent something else? The club doesnt listen or doesnt want to listen to fans or people of Pontypridd. When the move to Leckwith is broadcast as a " great acheievment " you know that were not all batting for the same side. I have consistently asked why no presence is kept in the town. And suggested an updated fixture board, meetings in the town etc. Real contact with real fans not some half baked article on Clwb Peldroed that tells the audience that Pontypridd Town are rivalling Ponty rugby for support in the town written by someone sat behind a laptop that rarely attends games and also has an agenda of self promotion.

I Quote . "Ultimately, Damien said it shouldn’t be about the location, but the fans." Yes the managers have said lots of things .at lots of times. Id ask Damien why there are no players from Pontypridd ? Why no ties are kept with the town ? And I dont mean USW ,Why no club meetings or engagements are in the town ? Why managers sit on the board ?(confict of interest ) Why every supporter who questions the descisions made has posts deleted or is marginalized ? And why the attitude is that there wasnt a club before they arrived ?

I'm sure there a few old "Bwl" boys who would disagree with there being no club before they arrived.
Also another quote "He said: “We still class it Treforest as being in Pontypridd." I am not sure that is a universally popular view. A bit like saying Llwydcoed is in Aberdare!!!
Leckwith is definately Cardiff though.

And these views could only be said by someone not from Pontypridd or with any empathy for the Town. Am hearing the seconds ( Taff Ely and Rhymney league side ) have been stopped from going up due to the move ? moves ? Although there is very little contact between either side. Pontypridd Town firsts are very much a seperate entity from the rest of the club and social media reflects this .

Do we know which pitch at Leckwith Ponty have nominated? I'd have guessed the one with the huge 2000+ seater stand. However, talking to a guy in work and he seems to think that one of the outter pitches is the right length....

So maybe the photographs of the big stand and floodlights etc are another example of fake news. Who knows ? its deffinatly in Cardiff as previously said by RCT

I have some sympathy here. There is nowhere suitable in Pontypridd where they can play. The council will not allow any improvements at Ynysanghard Park. The council hide behind he covenant placed on the park about no development. However, despite not being allowed to have a car park in the park, have have cleared some land for a car park, which is used as a car park, they’ve just called in an “Event Space” instead of a car park.
Three years ago the club made moves to take over the Maritime Astroturf facility, but that wasn’t big enough for WL standards and there isn’t enough space there to build and the costs would have been astronomical.
I believe that plan is to return to the Uni once the new ground is built, so the move to Leckwith is no worse than STM’s plan to share with Taffs Well it Ammanford’s plan to share with Bryon Ferry on a temporary basis.
As for managers on the committee, you need to understand how few people are involved in running clubs in the WL, some are almost 1 man bands, so you have to have whoever is willing in order to run a club, if that means the manager too then so be it.
As for local players, there aren’t any. The only 1 who came up from the junior/youth system a couple of years ago left as he wasn’t getting the game time he felt he needed. He’s playing WL football out of the area.
Part of the problem is the Cambrian academy who snap up all the best players in RCT at a young age, which is nothing against them, they’ve made a success of their academy so good for them.
As for the Junior section, they’ve gone downhill in the last couple of years, no youth team, no u12, no u13. 3 years ago they had all teams up to youth plus local Saturday team (currently doing well believe), Sunday League and ladies team (who have now gone to Porth) along with an u13 girls team (now disbanded). You have to ask what is going wrong there.
It could be a massive club in the area if run properly.
