Congratulations to all at Llantwit Major.
Not many thought the club would get tier 2 and done with no grants in a relatively short space of time.
Hopefully the team can continue their good form and get promotion.
Anyone know the longer term plans for ammanford and STM as I believe they can only share for a season.

No the ground you are playing on for the 2018/19 season has to be Tier 2 approved if it has then a club like Pontypridd can use it. Pontypridd have asked the question and have been told if they finish in the promotion places aslong as they get a ground share with a Tier 2 club they can get promoted.

Fair enough if that’s the case, but I don’t think that’s what the criteria was when I last read the documents (that was last summer mind).

Could have played at AFC Porth if they had asked.. I think you are missing the point, a club must have achieved a tier 2 licence by 30 April, they have not done that. Sorry I replied to the wrong post. All very confusing Fester . To be promoted sides were told you need a minimum of 100 seats, then by april 2019 250 seats. Spoke to Cwmamman Sec Alun and he said they were putting in 100 seats, they have been awarded the liscence, now wether they put in 250 seats I dont know. We have 100 seats Pontypridd could have applied to play on ours ,whilst they develope somewhere, where I dont know. I do beleive to obtain the tier2 you had inform the Faw by April 30 where you would play Im not the brightest, but not the dullest.I havnt got a scobby do whats going happen.

This is how I understood it as well Hugh. Maybe clubs have found a loophole. My guess is Major will need to add another 150 seats by April 2019 to keep the licence, assuming they go up and stay up next season.

100 seats was the criteria so no loophole.
I would suggest the ground sharers are more likely to be described as finding a loophole.

Congrats to you majormoments! I remember playing llantwit not that many years ago and they were an average amateur league side at best (I’m sure you won’t take offence to that) with no criteria to even get into the welsh league....a couple of years later challenging in div 3 and now on the brink of div 1 even with all of the hoops to jump through in terms of criteria even before you find the quality on the pitch! Congrats to all at the club and good luck with the final push!

No offence taken.
The club has come a long way from those days not so long ago .
Personally not had anything to do with it but I admire the hard working few.
I estimate they must have spent 50k since promotion from the amatuer league. Possibly as much as 15 k in the last 6 months.
Massive effort so I really hope the players see it through

Well if it doesn’t happen this year for you boys from an outsider looking in it would seem the club are in a great place for the future!

I’m casting my memory back to 08/09 (ish) I was playing for a different club back then in the old amateur league div 1. Neuaddwen are from the Gwent ranks as we’re 500 yards east of the dividing river for SWFA and Gwent FA! It’s been a frustrating one to be honest, drawing far too many games and if we turned half of those draws into wins we would be sitting much more comfortably but as it is we’re in a dogfight! I saw a post on here referring to us as naive which I think is fair! More frustrating is that even though the club are new to the welsh league our starting 11 today will have c2000 welsh league appearances (many of the players have vast div 1 experience) between them so not a lack of experience. I think a big problem has been consistency and that ruthlessness to kill games off...things we may have got away with in the Gwent County!! That said our destiny is in our hands and we have a decent run in and a squad of players who will go until the bitter end! 6 cup finals for us!

All I can say Neuaddwen if you have 11 players with c2000 appearances in the Welsh league and Div 1 experience. They are either well past it or they must have spent a lot of time on the bench To be struggling to survive in Div3

With only 13 teams meeting the criteria in league1, will it mean the top 3 qualified teams get promoted?
