What better way to celebrate Barry being in the WPL than to BBQ a pig on the beach.
BBC 1 Wales, right now.
World domination continues on track...

Carmarthen left the great escape a couple of games too late and a draw tonight sees them relegated
if they can play like they have recently, could be a swift return

This is embarrassing because I was at the Aber v Carmarthen game tonight..... But I must ask
Are Carmarthen now fully officially relegated now? Even if say Llanelli failed their appeal and somehow Haverfordwest didn't finish in the top 2? Or are they relegated and the WL has to swallow them up even if they don't end up sending another team up?
Sorry! First person to clear it up for me gets an IOU for a pint or coffee

It all depends on who finishes 1st or 2nd in the Welsh league division 1 and has the licence. So if Llanelli win the league but don't get the licence haverfordwest would need to finish 2nd to replace Carmarthen in the wpl. So Carmarthen aren't actually relegated yet, Llanelli will find out the decision of the appeal on the 26th of April. 1 point against port talbot tomorrow and we are champions. ITS GOING TO BE AN EPIC DAY ⚽️🏆

I was going to add (what if Bangor and Connahs Quay also fail) but that's probably another can of worms that need not be opened) Best of luck to you!

A few games ago 2nd place as a bare minimum looked impossible to miss. Now 5 games left, 9 points behind Penybont who have now finished their season. Penybont having +27 GD compared to Haverfordwest's +23. So even 3 wins out of the 5 might not be enough to finish 2nd if they do three 1-0s or something? They are probably going to need 3 wins and 1 draw at least from these... Taffs Well (a) Ton Pentre (a) Goytre Utd (h) Cwmbran Celtic (a) Caerau Ely (a) Four very long away trips there...

There are rumours circulating that Bangor City are in financial trouble. They have failed in their licence application, and if they are turned down again after the appeals meeting on Thursday, 26th, will presumably lose their place in the WPL, allowing Carmarthen Town a reprieve. Hopefully, Llanelli Town will be granted a licence at the second time of asking.

With only three days to go before the appeals are heard, there's little point in getting excited about rumours of financial downfall at Bangor. All will be revealed soon enough. Personally, I suspect that the appeal is based around some admin and there will be a fudge of an assurance that paperwork will be in order by the start of the system and everything will be fine. Pure guesswork on my part. I think if there was financial trouble with the new oweners, they wouldn't simply be limping to the appeal, they'd have announced a need for backing. I guess. It would be a very big deal to kick Bangor out, potentially causing a legal action. I don't know what the FAW record is like on winning legal cases...
Although it would be sweet if a north wales club was replaced by another southern club!

Surely teams want clubs like Bangor involved. If Ponty made it id want to play Bangor City not another Southern team. Barry were away to Llandudno on Saturday. This evening they're away to Prestatyn. In the last month they've also been to Prestatyn to have a game cancelled on them once they arrived and had an away game at Aberystwyth. The costs of those logistics, if you want to at least try and compete, are eye watering. When you then see that some of these clubs have attendances of 140 / 150 people, the rare game that doesn't involve coaches and overnight stays are very welcome. Personally, I'd prefer the league to contain Llanelli, Ponty, Carmarthen and Met than TNS, Airbus, GAP and Bala.

Bala's the one that kills me. Terrible roads and it seems to take an age to get there.

from the Welsh Prem website:
Promotion and Relegation
Bangor City will be relegated alongside Prestatyn Town. This means that Carmarthen Town will be reprieved, and will play in the JD Welsh Premier League next Season.
Caernarfon Town and Llanelli Town have both been promoted to the JD Welsh Premier League after their successful licence applications.
European Places and Playoffs
Connah’s Quay Nomads will be awarded an automatic UEFA Europa League place by virtue of their league position.
Bala Town, Cefn Druids, Cardiff Met and Barry Town United have qualified for the European playoffs. The make-up of the playoff games now depends on the result of the JD Welsh Cup Final.
Should Aberystwyth win the Final, then all four teams will play in the semi-finals on the weekend of the 12th May. Bala will host Barry, and whoever finishes fifth out of Druids and Met will host the other.
Should Connah’s Quay win the Final, Bala Town will automatically qualify for the UEFA Europa League. Barry will then travel to the team finishing sixth in the table in the only semi-final, with the winner travelling to the fifth placed team in the Final on 20th May.

It's sad that non footballing reasons has seen the best supported club relegated. However, it does give the league a nice north / south split
Barry Met Carmarthen Llanelli
Aberystwyth Newtown TNS
Connas Quay Caernarfon Bala Druids Llandudno
