yeah, i was there too, although the 2 best players on the day were one from last year and a new young lad who scored 2 goals. rumour has it that the caldi boys that were involved have all signed already except for one who is still making up his mind. the next 3-4 weeks will be interesting at actual caldicot to see who turns up and whether they actually get a half decent squad for the start of the season

i have been watching all divisions in the welsh league for twenty years and i have watched 11 pre season friendlies in div 1 goytre united are looking fit and gelling early which is a good sign they will be a major contender, in div 2 croesy look to have the edge but much to early to comment really,as for div 3 a very interesting situation watched bridgend st against aberaman wow direct physical fast good movement good passing and chris summers did nt play but sugars did odds on in my opinion and lee jarmans.

Ponty all the way for the 3rd divison no doubt at all IMO ,quality in all areas and they are a hungry club who need first div football. Bridgend Street will do well to be in the mix for promotion in my eyes and might cause the odd upset but will find it tough against some of the more dogged outfits.Good luck to all

listen folks all you people saying pontypridd this and that , constantly trying to cover up yours fears saying bridgend street will do ok but thats it . Bridgend street will walk div 3 they play good football keep the ball down and have been together for a few years all they've added is quality players with expieriance ive watched plenty of welsh league games and plenty of bridgend street games for the last two years where they spanked teams 6,7,8 nil consistently all be it in a lesser league but i can assure you the quality in them leagues is far from bad. You make me laugth saying the difference in quality in thease leagues , well i know 6 or 7 bridgend street players who have all been offered to go up to welsh league div 1 , another 2 got offered to go training with port talbot and you talk about lack of quality most of the boys are all good freinds there and grown up together even pontys money couldent buy that togetherness and unity , dont make me laugth the only question mark that hangs over bridgend street is the attitude of one or two players other than that they will win div 3 with ease .WATCH THIS SPACE !

You are talking through your rear end Mr Hanniballs. Ive heard a few good things about them likewise about Kenfig Hill and Ton & Gelli who just missed out but also heard lots about other clubs who are already in our league With respect they have a manager who has a poor record in this league and players yet to prove themselves at this level so how on earth can you justify your comments? I dont think the team themselves will be too happy to see people building them up to be something they aren't. Ponty Town by quite a margin FACT As for the new boys both Undy and Bridgend Street 4th, 5th or 6th placed and gaining respect on and off the field would be an excellent first season in our league.I bet they'd both buy that right now, listen folks all you people saying pontypridd this and that , constantly trying to cover up yours fears saying bridgend street will do ok but thats it . It hasnt been Pontys run in that has cost them, it has been their start in the last 2 seasons. (check it out) decent signings in vardon, gunstone, phillips, morris, francome.... be interesting.

i think the problem ponty will have is that players will become unsettled quickly if they are not starting.
Gonna be a tough year in div 3, dont think ponty will 'walk it' as expected

Let the action begin and watch the silverwear roll in, i know a couple of people in both camps and know that Ponty are gunning on all barrels for winning the league with promotion a bare minimum and Bridgend St are hoping to be there or thereabouts come the business end. Expectations say alot so lights camera action little said about the other new boys so it should be interesting

I love that saying, " hope they look after the players that got them there". If the gaffer thinks "those" players are good enough then he will keep them, if quality comes along then any manager would be mental to turn it away for the sake of sentiment.. Football is a cut throat game, and every person involved with every club are judged by the results of their 1st team.. Good clubs are judged upon their results, not how much they like the players that did well for them.

Leigh hasnt yet signed but would be a great addition.
Leigh and Vardon were a big part of Ton Pentres unbeaten season last year, plus with Barry Gunstones experience and Tom Morris' energy Ponty should be there or there abouts come May.
Also Ryan Frankome may be signing this week which will be a good signing.
