Is this true? If so how naive can the club be pandering to the personal goals of the managers.
If true , this move is a joke and i sincerely hope it backfires on them.
This is not what football is about.
The local Milton Keynes Dons are born

I believe it is temporary, allowing development of current pitch facilities.

To be fair, I can see a lot of clubs sharing or moving out of their village to hit criteria. Think it's well documented ynysangharad does not meet division 1 criteria and will not. The walk at sport park is affecting them hitting criteria there too. Now I here leckwith was secured as a contingency but the Faw have said that is not a WL ground due to the pitch being so small.
Looks like a stint in division 2 is likely, wether they finish in top 3 or not. Moving to meet criteria of faw lofty expectations, not to become ponty cardiff fc red dragons I think.

Sorry I don't buy it.
This is not about the club and the local supporters it about the ambitions of the managers. Ponty based in Trefforest is bad enough based in Cardiff is abhorrent. The manager's need to have along hard look at themselves and ask themselves is this all about them

I don't know the history 'if any' between the 2 clubs, But Is Sardis Road (Pontypridd RFC) and their new 3G surface not an option

Also I think it's long way for the players and management to travel.

Im all for slamming big time charlies.
But It was well publicised, front page news in ponty that all avenues were considered. If I remember rightly the pitch markings were the deciding factor on why the sardis road merger fell through.
So a question to faw and Welsh league would be, if ponty park, the uni, sardis road and Leckwith are not Welsh league 1 venues. What are? And where else should they play? I'm sure they are not the only ones in this position either, surely a number of div 1 teams are in this position as are others looking for promotion to tier 1. The Top 5 in div 2 and div 3 currently.. 1 possibly 2 would meet criteria.. Huw if you were top of league I'm sure your stance would be different. It's worrying and financially crippling for a lot of us to meet these new expectations.
I fear there is no hope for many and really struggle how many in 3 or 2 can ever achieve this criteria.

All could be irrelevant when they very probably lose to STM on the carpet this weekend anyway - they won’t need to move at all if they aren’t in the top 3!
Completely blowing it lately while Ammanford, Garden Village, Llantwit & STM all in great form barring the odd blip!

Yes very Possibly!
But the point I was making is how many of those promotion contenders have the facilities in place for promotion.

The revival of Cardiff Grange Quins, Cant see the pitch at Leckwith is a problem, Cardiff city ladies (welsh prem ladies) play home games and Cardiff City U23s and Academy sides play football league clubs at same location.

The pitch at Leckwith Athletic Stadium is actually in such poor condition that the City U23's and ladies usually play on the adjacent ground which is enclosed but has no seating at all.

The pitch looked in good nick on sunday [br It would look even better if it was in the CF37 postcode area. Pontypridd supporters are very quiet on here. Embarrassed?
