So as we enter the business end of the season who is going to get promotion to Div 1??
Main teams in the current mix look to be STM Sports, Ammanford, Pontypridd and Llantwit Major. Garden Village in with an outside chance and they seem to have a decent run in of fixtures but will they remain consistent enough during the run in??
Pontypridd seem to be letting a few points slip in recent weeks and STM have the majority of games left away from Home which is normally their downfall.. Ammanford right in contention after a recent great run of results and have a big game away at Pontypridd town tomorrow night. A win here for Ammanford could really shake up PontyPridd and Ammanford still having fixtures at home against STM and Llantwit could prove to be a major factor for them. Pontypridd still have tough fixtures against Llantwit Major Away and STM Sports Away so they could be out of contention within a few weeks if they fail to gain results here.
Llantwit Major are in a really good position but will the amount of remaining fixtures catch them up and be too much to manage. Majority of fixtures away from home too which is always a tough ask especially going into midweek with work commitments etc. Be nice to see Llantwit do it. Play some great football and go about business in the right way.
Who do we think will gain promotion to Div 1?? Be interesting to see peoples thoughts...

Ammanford’s trip to Pontypridd is off tomorrow as Pontypool will be playing Trefelin BGC at Aberdare in the League Cup semifinal

Major 1 Stm 2 Ammanford 3
Going to be an interesting run in but I think these 3 are the best shout going by recent weeks and fixtures coming up.

I haven't been to Ammanford in recent years but neither of the other two meet ground criteria will this preclude them from promotion?

I wouldn’t waste any more time in the ground criteria debate now all of the promotion chasing clubs can now legally ground share with another tier 2 Club!
How a Cardiff team playing in RCT or an RCT side playing in Cardiff etc is GOOD for their respective supporters is another chat altogether! These clubs will replace existing Tier 2 clubs who HAVE met the criteria at their own grounds too.
Can it get much more farcical?

Really tight at the top now.
5 teams in with a real shout and the Buds not out of it
STM look in the box seat but play Ponty on the weekend which is a huge game

Does Leckwith Stadium meet Welsh league Criteria, pitch wise...hmm get the tape measure out mind some these clubs are so shortsighted, dont forget they gotta have 100 seats by april 19, some sharing who dont meet that now...waiting see if they get in top 3...then it will be 100 seats not 250... and it goes on, what next, do the reserves, youth have to move as well, or rules going to be bent for one year...

I take it from this what I heard is true - Pontypridd are moving to Grangetown in Cardiff to play? Tell me how this is better for the people of Pontypridd than where they play now, 100 seats or not!

If this is true, it's an absolute joke and the people in charge at Pontypridd should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. I have always had a soft spot for Ponty but they are now taking the piss.

I couldn't possibly comment on any rumours, They should let all teams that want play in souless "Stadiums" with running tracks around, into their own little league, sure read somewhere running track must be green same as the pitch, one of the reasons Ystrad Mynach does not meet Tier 2 criteria apparently...might be wrong tbh lost all interest

I'm no great expert on Pontypridd football, but I would have thought Ynysybwl folk wouldn't be too endeared with Pontypridd going to the Welsh capital either. Didn't Ponty inherit the Ynysybwl brand + start playing out of Ynysangharad Park before moving on to Univ of Glam + now Cardiff? Ponty the new Inter Cardiff of the 21st century?

All this Criteria changes and worries going on in South Wales while in Mid Wales you Just borrow a farmers field in mark it up and chuck some posts up, buy two small sheds from B&Q use them as dugouts, rope off the playing area and you will be fine good to go for playing in tier 4 Welcome to the wonderful world of postcode lottery and Welsh Football criteria differences. What other country in the world has different criteria for its football clubs within its borders, only in Wales could this happen I imagine. As for the original subject matter: 1.STM Sports 2.Ammanford 3.Pontypridd Town or Llantwit Major

6 points from 3away games for the Major was probably the minimum requirement.
2 games against Pontadawe now and 4 points will keep us in the shake up.
Still have to play all the other contenders so a great end of season.
