Totally agree Huw. Everyone had a vote and we all knew what was going to happen. This could wreck the league and if it does get delayed for to long I wont be staying in the league. I am sure the League and F.A will have a strong defence, but let's hope all clubs want this settled quickly and accept this is how we voted including Risca who probably voted for it to go ahead in the first place.

Surely if clubs are opposed to the change, why not leave it as it was. Its not as if going to 16 teams is going to make any difference to clubs, no pot of gold, so why all the argument? Clearly a lot of clubs are not happy with the way its been handled, and everyone agrees it has been a shambles. It just makes sense now.

Didnt vote for it thought it should have been phased in over 2 pos 3 seasons. BUt it was carried by 48 votes to 4, clubs voted for it now the reality is hitting home about 12 months to late. I told our manager top 8 to be sure, anybody who thought it was going to be on ground criteria is niave to say the least, sorry but my opinion. Leaving the pyramid sytem is not an option too many problems and no football next season the prob outcome of that vote.

The plan isnt to turn the league into turmoil, its quite simple, the league will still be run exactly the same only without being dictated to by the Welsh FA. It will give the clubs more of a voice and the Welsh FA will come back and negotiate with a view to getting the league back in the pyramid. What we have to remember here is that the clubs hold the power and the Welsh FA have made it impossible and unachievable to pretty much any welsh league club, to now gain promotion into the Premier. So you have to ask yourself, what do we actually gain by staying in the current set up. If clubs vote for this, the fixtures will start on time and the league will run as normal. We shouldnt be scared of this. I think it is long overdue.

If the AGM is postponed it will be turmoil. For a start if the clubs do vote for a move away from the FAW, they will need 32 clubs to vote yes, dont forget the clubs who have been relegated out wont get a vote, so its highly unlikely. What Area asscotiation are clubs going to join, SWFA wont have you, where are refs coming from FAW wont appoint them, thats just for starters its not just a case of saying the only difference will be no promotion to the Premier Lge, if Risca/Pontyclun etc get their way I can honestly see next season without football cos it will run and run and.... No match fixture sec, no sec, no discplinary commitee whos gonna step forward

Huw, my understanding isnt that Risca or Pontyclun etc are trying to get the AGM postponed. All they are doing is putting forward the motion to move out of the pyramid temporarily until things are run properly. The isssure of fixture sec etc wont be a problem, as new ones can be elected and will do a far better job than the current bunch, who have just buried their heads in the sand.
I havent seen anything in a letter etc to say that anyone wants the AGM postponed, I think people have got their wires crossed and it i something that Welsh League clubs should get behind, as it will benefit them all in the long run

Relegated teams trying to squirm out of it via the back door!! Shocking!!
We all knew last Summer. In our league was the need to finish top 10 to be sure of safety from Pre Season onwards.
I really hope that the clubs within the league who are not trying the back door route to escaping the drop in various leagues do not hold up the players, coaches and officials of the entire league who are trying to prepare for the season.
We all knew the score. Those who didn't meet the required standards and results ON THE PITCH (What the league SHOULD be all about remember) should take their relegations like men.
I am absolutely disgusted with the whole scenario and it makes me wonder why bother. If clubs within the league can throw our entire membership into disarray for their own purpose then I really do wonder why the hell I personally would want to be involved in it.
You didn't meet the required standard on the pitch. Deal with it. And try and bounce back!
The rest of us don't deserve the shambles!!

I for one will not be voting to withdraw from the league. I am still lost to how people can say we didn't know what we were voting for at the AGM. We all knew the score from the start.

Totally Bemused - You obviously havent read the Welsh League constitution on how these issues are supposed to be voted on properly. This isnt clubs trying to squirm out or go through the back door as you put it! This is a case where the Welsh League Management have promised to do 54 ground inspections and base relgation on criteria, then got to the end of Jan and realised that they hadnt got off their backsides to do ANY inspections! Then they give some bumbled excuse about an old criteria being invoked, without anything being confirmed in writing afterwards. That left people walking away from the EGM absolutely clueless as to what was happening! You obviously havent read the facts, so maybe the shambles tag lies a lot closer to home!

Sven, once again on here and not for the 1st time, you are wrong!
I sat in those same meetings and heard the same things as you. I was very clear from day one.
Clubs are now claiming all sorts of things, some of them untrue by the way, about the matter. I read a newspaper article last week where Puncyclun Club Statement read that the first they heard of their relegation on league position was on the 5th of June when an e-mail came around.
Now that just simply isn't true is it and I know for a fact - having witnessed that very club's last league game of the season where they lost to Newport Civil Service that that club knew exactly what the score was. Their Manager, players and followers all made calls during the game hich could leave nobody in any doubt at all that they knew they had to escape the bottom 7!
Now this isn't a swipe at Pontyclub individually, they are a cracking club and one I hope will do like Porth did and bounce back immediately, but the point is that clubs are now using any old angle to try and save themselves.
If it was so incorrect why wait until their club was relegated to pipe up? If it was "fundamentally wrong" then it was just that in February after the EGM. Amazing how nobody did anything until their on field exploits were found wanting.
I don't actually support the 1 team league thing. My club's vote was one of the 4 "No's" last summer too. But the point is had people made this much fuss back then a lot of us would have backed them. Not now though. We don't want the turmoil and we did what was requirewd on the pitch - it is a FOOTBALL league remember!

Sven, do I take it you are involved with a relegated club or you want some power in this breakaway league. At the EGM it was stated that most clubs had passed the criteria. The EGM was a waste of time and told us nothing new really apart from make sure your club is good enough to stay out of the relegated places.

Totally Bemused - I can guarantee you that I am not wrong!
No, I am no longer involved with any of the clubs in question. However, I do know the Pontyclun Manager quite well and spoke to him after the game against Newport CS, as I live not far from Newport, and they had absolutely no idea what was happening and how the relegated teams were going to be decided.
I am not out for any agenda here, I just believe that these clubs deserve to be treated better and shouldnt be made scapegoats for the blatant negligence shown by the WL Management Committee, as that is what all this amounts to!
Why make a big song and dance at the start of the season saying about the criteria was going to be for being in the league and that you are going to inspect all 54 grounds and then do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it and expect the clubs to carry the can for the laziness of the WL Management Committee! If you cant see that is wrong, then I dont know how else that can be explained to you!
I was at the meeting too, with my former club but there was DEFINITELY NOT a vote taken saying that the bottom seven clubs would be relegated. This is further proven by speaking to Managers of other clubs as late as March/April and they would all give you a different figure, as to how many were being relegated and what would be the deciding factors!!! - That says it all really!
Surely, if anything had been decided officially at the meeting, EVERY club would have received an official letter afterwards, confirming this? As this is what happened in October when they sent out the letter saying that relegation would be decided by CRITERIA, not league position! Any ammendments to that rule, would need to be officially communicated out to clubs by letter in the same format, and not just on hearsay from whispers going around the various leagues!

"Come on boys we know the score, win or it's bottom 7 and down..."
Direct quote from the dugout at the aforementioned match!
Amen
