have to agree that Bridgend Street were indeed excellent last night 3-2 flattered Aberaman including no less than 6 in the squad from their under 16 team from 3 years ago which means an excellent team spirit, even marquee signing Ryan Sugar is a for mer street player they will take some stopping this season methinks what an impressive ground too better than some in division 1 by miles

bridgend town 2 - 0 bridgend street , decent game but must say thats the poorest bridgend town team ive seen in 5 years , they've lost alot of quality , players look over weight still , and still playing well below standards expected to challenge yeah it is pre - season but a decent side would of given bridgend town a 5 - 0 stuffing yesterday . Chairman needs too re-think and oust some of the big time charlies still at the club , theres quality in welsh league div 1 who work hard , and want too win not concern there self with just picking up there pay packet so they got enougth money to stuff there fat faces with cooked breakfast every day of the week. i agree with you jack on a few things but to say its the poorest bridgend town team in 5 years is wrong im afraid its the worst team ive seen in 10 years , they need a complete clear out sooner rather than later . I also watched the bridgend street game and to the guy who said they ripped town apart must be on drugs i think they created 2 chances all game it was a really poor spectacle. But they are div 3 so understandable but i still believe they'll do well , but to win div 3 out of the question ponty will walk it this year a mid table finish for bridgend street is far more realistic .

pre season friendlies are about trialists formations tactics it is probably fair to say that both teams were not at full strength and to slag teams off at this stage off pre season is futile,if people want to judge surely it would be reasonable to comment around christmas time and not now,Bridgend st played aberaman last night and won the result meant nothing for them it is about learning by playing better teams ,and managers trying different things,

PILCS 2-4 Croesyceiliog (Thursday)
Jody Jenkins got 2, Christian Doidge 1 & Jordan Jones 1.
PILCS looked a very good team and must surely be one of the favourites for the Gwent County Title from what I saw (I left 5 mins from the end, but they were unlucky tonight I thought)
We conceded a penalty for the 3rd consecutive game tonight - get them all the way early doors when there is nothing at stake I guess?

CFC, what formation Croesy playing at the moment with Goodenough there as well? 3-4-1-2?

the part of the game I watched last night, they played a narrow 4-3-1-2 formation with 3 central midfielders and Doidge in the hole behind Jenkins & Goodenough. Almost like a diamond at times.

I have watched three games so far and there have been at least 4 different formations used from what I can tell. The word around the place is it's a standard 4-4-2 this season though
Who knows - we have spent the last 2 season with the old wing back system and got some success from it so he must like it

Hmmm i would imagine they lose Doidge's aereal presence though when he drops into that deeper role.
Standad 4-4-2 would mean one of the three strikers would have to be dropped though, unless one of them can play midfield? Obviously most teams would have a striker sat on the bench but with Croesy's front two from last season on fire and Goodenough being asked for a couple of years to sign the manager could have a bit of a juggling act on his hand!

Caldicot 2-4 Porth, however Porth did score from a non cleared ball which boucned horribly infront of one of our defenders and then with the last touch when a back pass was laid back and it bobbled over the keepers foot

Big frontrunner Wells on hols, centre halves x 2 on hols, both sides could make excuses Dont think eitherside will take great significance from the result, good workout for both managers we had 2 trialists, was told you were solid if unspectacular but that has no bearing on the season as you are obviously rebuilding best luck for the season and thanks for the hospitality.
