Anyone heard any rumours coming out of Barry Town about them being for sale?

If he can't sell the club why doesn't he just offer it to the supporters group for a nominal sum? If he pulls the club he'll get nowt anyway...

Letas hope that the Barry Town issue is settled as soon as possible, the League cannot afford to lose another club of Barry's standing, bad enough losing Cwmbran

It doesnt seem right that teams that include Cwmbran are relegated when clubs that still dont pass the Welsh Leagues facilities standards are kept in. Maybe it would be simpler to scrap standards altogether as failure to stick to the ground rules are now the norm.

But the WL committee say that all the clubs have passed the ground criteria. Who do you think hasn't?

People have their opinions and I think that Clubs like Treowen, Treharris and Caerleon are ones who dont meet the so called criteria but accept the decision of the Welsh League grounds inspection team. What we as a Club dont like are the pathetic attemps of Barry Town's owner to threaten to pull the plug just to get sympathetic comments and votes. Hey we have accepted relegation out of the Welsh League please dont think you as as an ex WPL Club think you have the devine right to stay there because of your history (money)

There were a number of clubs who initially failed the 2004 Ground Criteria inspection and who then did not complete the works within the stipulated 30 days, I am not going to name them , easy to find out if you have the minutes of previous WLMC meetings. At the special meeting in november 2010 a vote was passed that clubs who do not maintain the published 2004 criteria could be removed. the actual wording says that the WLMC have "Plenary" powers, look up the word ? Alan commiserations on your relegation we actually found out we were out in 2007 in your clubhouse, we won at yours but it wasnt enough, we knew then that there were clubs who did not meet the criteria but we finished in the relegation places and quite rightly went out of the league. re group come back better and stronger and who knows where you could end up......the 1st div maybe, football is afunny old game as someone once said

Huw
Thanks for your kind words but as mentioned we have accepted relegation this cannot be said for the teams that are appealing. I just hope that the Clubs that are appealing will not disrupt the start of your season as what happened last season. All the best in the 1st division and as I have said on numerous occasions we all new at the start of the season that the 3rd division would be 16 teams from 2011-12.

So do you think that clubs that have not adhered to the rules should be allowed to stay in the league??
Read the rule:
21. GROUND AND DRESSING ROOM
All Clubs in Membership at the commencement of season 2010/2011 must have a ground that conforms to the standard Code of Facilities in the League that were set in 2004. These facilities must be maintained at all times.

I notice also that the fixtures end in March.... that means 4 and half months without football. THANKS TO ALL THE CLUBS THAT VOTED FOR 16 TEAMS PER LEAGUE.

dead right! There was no need to bring it in what so ever. All it has done has made the league a laughing stock with appeal after appeal. The staus quo was fine. Why change something that was working fine, where everyone was happy? We will have repercussions of this for years to come.

I think you are spot on. It seems like Porthcawl, South Gower and Cwmbran are apealing but I can tell you 100% that Cwmamman United are not.
