Outrageous.

Mr. Rees (I don't know you, so I'll be polite), where have you been for the past month?

I have just typed a 10 paragraph rant, and thought it through and deleted it - like you should have done with yours, maybe.

So, instead of ranting, I'll trim it down to facts;

Fact 1
Barry Town AFC Chairman, Stuart Lovering, had publically stated that unless a buyer was found, Barry Town would be removed from the Welsh League. (view the official website)

Fact 2
Barry Town AFC will now enter the 2011-12 season entirely funded by the supporters and sponsors via the Barry Town Supporters' Committee, in case that buyer is not found. The Chairman of the football club will no longer be involved in funding it

Fact 3
There is currently a consortium attempting to negotiate with Stuart Lovering over purchasing the club.

Fact 4
If the sale falls through, he remains owner and chairman of Barry Town AFC Ltd. The Barry Town Supporters' Committee, however, will (again) be running and funding the club.

Fact 5
He will continue to have sales from the bar, while putting nothing into the football.

Fact 6
We have even had to give up £500 in case we fail to see the season through, and he has to pay the fine as chairman of the club.

Meanwhile, other chairman will probably accept his handshake and say "well done old boy" while the supporters fight to keep their club alive.

So, you see, Mr. Rees, as a Barry Town supporter - and member of the BTSC - who has sweated blood and tears for over a month now trying desperately to get funds into the Supporters' Committee's coffers, I'm more than a little offended by your blase attitude towards the club we are all trying to keep alive.

Our 100 years of history wasn't simply built on 'money', but by 100 years of hard work from supporters like those who make up the Committee in 2011. It's the actual owners of football clubs in this world who make the mistakes and just simply walk away from them, while the fans, with their local club running in their blood, are left to try and pick up the pieces.

But fine, have a pop at us, the supporters. We can all go and support Cardiff City, but where would YOUR club be if every supporter thought like that? Or every club on this forum? We wouldn't even have a Welsh League to go and watch every weekend.

I'm proud of Barry Town, and I'm proud of the Welsh League, but I'm gobsmacked by the sheer lack of respect shown to supporters on this forum.

Poor show.

I'm sick of all this ground criteria bull####, teams should be relegated on where they finish in the league end of!!!! if not we might as well say that the rich clubs with the best grounds stay in a league of their own, its called FOOTBALL, its about the quality of football not the stands u watch from or the changing rooms u change in.
People keep mentioning Treharris, caerleon and treowen, i agree nobody likes going there but u have to get on with it and adapt to the surface an conditions, we are talking about clubs run by volunteers who do great jobs keeping the clubs going without any money yet u want them out, well how about if promotion was decided by who has the best ground instead of who has picked up most points, lets put haverfordwest back up now without a ball being kicked. You lot moaning about it are a big part of the problem with welsh football, don't get involved with the politics just concentrate on bringing in better coaches and players to your clubs maybe you wouldn't have to worry about who has the best ground then.

Not a rant mate just having a go at your owner. What you have done as supporters is fantastic in keeping your Club going. Yes BT has a proud history and yes you deserve your place in the higher divisions of Welsh Football. I certainly do not have any chips on my shoulder so I will appologise if I have caused offence. With that note that will be the last you hear from me and good luck to all teams this year and hope to back asap.

We could of course just scrap ground criteria and just play on roped-off parks. Everyone could then pay their journeyman striker an extra couple of hundred per game instead of trying to make their ground spectator-friendly, and it'll be a level playing field for everyone

They got relagated fair and square, simply not good enough!!!!

They were probably appealing that the League has once again failed to carryout their rule regarding clubs having to have all the required facilities to remain in the league. If the League keep ignoring the rules we might as well play on open fields like some members were advocating earlier on and go back to the old days. I cannot understand for the life of me why the clubs who havn't the required facilities, which is in some cases a toilet for the match officials, cannot apply for grant money.
Re Barry Town I feel that we in Wales should be very proud of their achievements through the years even though they have now hit the bad times. I have always felt that a lot of people who decry clubs who have obtained financial backing do so because they cannot get it themselves. It takes hard work to get sponsorship and it just doesnt magically appear. I feel sure players and supporters of clubs would rather experience the highs and lows of a club like Barry Town than be happy to just tread water. Do you think any these clubs who keep having a go at others who get financial backing would turn down a sponsorship deal if it came their way? All the best Barry and hope you get to the top again.
