It is so very sad to see Cwmbran Town where they are now, but I know that there are people there who are working very hard to try to keep the club up. Good luck lads for the last 3 games.

Oh come on Hugh, if you have an idea let us know who delph is!! at least then we can judge for ourselves if they have the credentials to be able to critizise! But my opinion is that its someone who is already involved with the club.

If it is someone within the club then they should be crucified. There is a right way and a wrong way to go about things!

Some good points Hugh. With the amount of clubs going out of business in recent years, no club should be over-extending themselves financially just to stay in X division or win Y cup. It's not worth it. The future for clubs at semi-pro and amateur level has to be through sustainability, not brown envelopes and tax dodging. Any personal money that goes into CTAFC is for tangible items (think equipment, the odd coach, etc.) and not into the black hole of player wages. So 'until' i win the lottery and build my club a ground like Druids have, we have to build in small steps. Please wish us luck

It seems like the Cwmbran Town story has come to an end.Sadly the club will leave the over priced, always empty and deteriorating stadium and walk into oblivion. My personal guess is that its bon voyage.Going to a railed pitch on a common will make the club more of a laughing stock. I say look back with pride, look up and wink at Tony in heaven and then walk away.Yesterday has gone forever.Memories will be there forever though.Turn off the light and walk proudly away.

Swanny? or should i say delph? this is football, it happens. Lets look at just 2 clubs, Newport County? gone forever at one point and look at them now. AFC Wimbledon, gone forever and look at them now, they could be playing league football next season! It is very sad whats happening at Cwmbran Town but is it really the end? The youth section is fast becoming the biggest in Torfaen. If changes are made now there is no reason CTFC can return to welsh league football (and remember there not down yet) and compete again. I for one certainly hope they do.
Your reference to Tony is very touching, but allthough he led them through the good times there were a lot of people before and after him that worked very hard for the club.

That was a very dramatic post Swanny! The Under 12s did the league and cup (beating Celtic) double this season. The future is promising. But please, let's try and keep things in perspective. It is only football after all.

i notice on Cwmbran's website that there has been a change in the hierarchy of the club, with Gareth Griffiths now the new chairman. i guess some of the detractors have got their wish, with regards to Ms Purcell.
Seems to be a conflict of interest though, as Mr Griffiths was part of the staff at Bridgend Street who are obviously preparing for their first season in the Welsh League.

a welcome return to the fold, so good luck Gareth at least the man will have football and the club in his best interests.
