It is sad to see a club like Cwmbran Town on the downward slide.Remember they were one of the "Big Shots" of Welsh Football not so long ago. Being a total outsider I dont know where it has all gone wrong up there but there seems to be a bit of a witchhunt against the people running the club. It will be a loss to the Welsh League if they do go down especially with the facilities they have when you look at some of the grounds in Div 3 they are shocking !! Also congratulations to Undy on reaching the Welsh League a welcome new face.

Very sad but they are where they are on merit. History is history and the future is the future. Regarding their stadium, its not theirs, its decaying, the stand is shot and the place has always been a spiritless place.Lets face it in the Cwmbran heyday they were only dragging in meagre crowds so its not a great loss to many. They need to relocate, rebuild and get real. The likes of Undy and Bridgend Street are now officially bigger than Cwmbran Town. Bigger financially, bigger in staff and simply better managed from top to bottom.. Its hard to criticise the management there but the likes of Undy and Celtic must be commended on doing it properly.Ironic also that Gary Proctor is leading his team into the Welsh League and waving at his former employers as they go the opposite way. What a poor decision to get rid of him and one that has come back to bite them in the bum big time

I would love it if we could move to our own ground and build up over time. The £200 a home game the club currently pays out could go on maintaining our own ground instead!!
Our time in the Low/WPL shows what can be achieved with a chairman who is happy to supply a 4-figure weekly player budget irrespective of whether 50 or 150 came through the gate.
We will always have our memories of European football, but i just can't see another club from the south east ever appearing in the WPL again (apart from Barry Town, but they have other issues at the mo) - there just isn't the support out there.
And the only way to exist in the WPL properly is to have regular crowds over 200 in my personal opinion.
Anyway, congrats to Undy and Bridgend Street. Hopefully the players Gary Proctor has kept from his days at the Crows can now do the job in D3.

Procter has an association with Bridgend Street and the fact is that he brought a few of them along to Crows, the point being now is that they have returned and with a few extra players added the Bridgend Street team are pretty formidable. In West Wales you have Ragged School and in the south it's Bridgend Street as they always seem to be winning something. Procter took Kone to Bridgend Street last year and he was a revelation but in the same breath was a major loss to thr Crows. As previously stated Mrs Charlady must secretly gutted that she didn't let Procter continue as the guy has won 2 leagues in 2 seasons since leaving and only lost 3 games

Tidiany Kone, or "Chi-chi" as we called him, was pretty special to be fair. Jean-Black Ngody was the star though. Free-kicks were like penalty kicks to him!

Proctor was absolutely useless at Cwmbran and I have no reason to believe that he would have arrested the slide.

Proctor useless at Cwmbran? Yes they were relegated but no surprise as the support he was given was nothing less than appalling. If you dont agree then ask the guy, same support as all the rest have had since, hence 3 relegations. and just for the record same support as the ones before him to!
