What a stop-start season this has been, with matches called off because of rain or frost or snow. I’m a Ton Pentre supporter. By the end of September we had played 10 games, then in October we played 2 games , November 2, December just 1 and January 2. So in four months we’ve played 7 games.
Is it time to consider summer football? The problem is deciding when to take a winter break?

To be honest, I would prefer summer football. Unfortunately, you have to remember that there are quite a few clubs that share with cricket teams and would not be able to use the grounds.

Worth noting FAW cancelled the Pontypridd Vs Risca game tomorrow night because Wales are playing a friendly!
Both teams are now training!
Explain that one....

Gareth remember when they were having 70,000 crowds, the fiasco of the Wales v England game where they sold tickets without thought to clubs and kept our money for almost 3 months means I will never watch another game under the FAW durisdiction ever again, bunch clowns running(Ruining) our game..

Don't get me started on the decision to cancel our game against Risca! Absolutely fuming!!!! Our game is an official league fixture. The Wales game is a meaningless friendly. Surely we should take precedence. Of course the FAW are shit scared at the prospect of our 20 fans missing the Wales game that it could seriously hit the Liberty attendance figures!!!!

And Huw, before you ask where did Ponty get 20 fans from. I think we've picked up a few disenchanted Porth fans after your 3-2 home defeat against Aberdare....ha ha ha!!!!!

Only joking butt. We've attracted them with our slick ticky tacky football that's the norm at the Park this season!

without wanting to sound provocative, why was the Risca vs Pontypridd originally scheduled to clash with the Wales match in the first place? I ask because the date of the Wales game must have been known well in advance, and if so, was it not a mistake on behalf of the clubs to arrange a game for this date rather than the Tuesday night, or a week earlier / later?
I can see where the FAW are coming from here, because they have to draw a line somewhere. And whilst it feels ridiculous to stop a Welsh League game going ahead, i expect if they didn't stick to their rule (I presume there is a rule for this?), then they would come in for a lot of stick from other quarters. For example fans of the Welsh team telling them that they don't care about getting everyone behind the team because they allow all sorts of local games to go ahead at the same time.
