theres been alot of talk about ground criteria having the upper say this season rather than the actual league table but its interesting to hear that Treharris Western have suddenly taken stock of their bottom place position by signing new players with the lure of the envelope. A 6-0 win was their first result under their new lease of life and it was their first of the season. Will their possible avoidance of a bottom three position guarantee them safety as there's talk that their pitch is too small and cant be extended? Another struggling team Cardiff Grange Quins have also suddenly dangled the dosh by signing Nathan White who was being paid at Ponty and Dominic Dwyer who stopped playing for Bridgend St because they said they wouldn't pay players under their new manager. Lessons dont seemed to be learned as paying players silly money like £70 per week was the near downfall of them a few years back. Players talk.Good luck to both clubs if they have the resouces to be able to do this but it just shows the mecenary side of players such as White who will move from a promotion chasing club to a relegation haunted club mid season just for the price of a packet of fags.

Unfortunately, Nathan was the victim of his own temperament. He received two red cards this season and missed 7 games. In the meantime, we had signed Chris Summers and Nathan was consigned to being a bench player despite his goal scoring record this season. So when the Quins put in 7 days for him he decided to move on in search of regular playing time plus the fact that he's a Cardiff lad meant shorter journeys for home games.

and of course he's getting more than he was on at Ponty but on the flip side of that my baby brother's workmate who's connected with CGQ has said that a few boys already at CGQ who have stuck with them all along are asking questions why a few new superstars are all of a sudden getting an cash for playing and they arent especially when the club that they've been loyal to haven't been paying any players until now.Did someone mention Chris Summers earlier,he must pick his Ponty wages up on a saturday and then his old age pension on a Monday but credit to him he still seems to be putting them in the onion bag so fair doos to the cliff richard of welsh football. Barring a miracle Lido will be back in the welsh league next season so does anyone know who have applied to go up to replace them from down south and where in the table they must finsih to qualify for the promotion? Its a shame as Lido are a great club with a nice ground and run by well intended people but they dont seem to have the financial clout to compete at that level so it might be a lifeline them coming back?

I would hazard a guess and say that Haverfordwest will be a definite for accepting promotion should they finish in the top two (first or second are the only qualifying slots for promotion. Apart them it is difficult to say who would apply to go up as there is a definite lack of interest in going up to the Welsh Premier as far as the South Wales clubs go (unlike the North who ALWAYS promote from the Cymru Alliance).

Nathan White was the difference between the two sides yesterday, along with one other attacking player, they won Quins the game, That probably answers any questions being asked by the Quins boys

So icehockeyhair let me get this straight! Nathan "along with one attacking player", scored and assisted all 3 goals, and then went on to stop the other team scoring all game, well there team mates all stood around and watched! Your right that would definitely answer all the questions the quins boys have!!!!!

So there the question is answered by ice hockey so maybe for the next game the 9 UNPAID players don't need to turn up cos whitey can win it all on his own. Us local loyals are being mugged off my the new manger and its going to blow up. No paycheques or 16 paycheques

the other lads played some part, but Nathan and Omar were the difference between the two sides. Nothing controversial about that, just an observation
Whatever any of these are getting paid is just a judgement call by Quins management, where they must feel that they will ensure Quins stay up. If they thought they could get equally good players for free, or had equally good players already there, then they'd choose that option surely? results have picked up, so it seems to be working anyway
If the players not getting paid feel they are just as good as Whitey etc, then i'm sure another side somewhere will be willing to pay them something similar, and they can choose to go there. It's just how football works at this level.

In other words stuff the boys who have stuck together and who play for the love of the club and replace us with scrounging club hoppers. Ok results have taken a turn but its a false economy because the rest of us are pissed off with the secrets and the way players are being treated differently. Those 2 are getting paid to do exactly what the rest of us a doing but minus the heart for our club and its going to go tits up

No mention of Dwyer! I take it he isn't value for money at £60 a game then?

It's £80 a game so we hear, him and sugars were picking up dodgy cheques off Gary proctor last season and sugars was told to say he wasn't getting a penny sound familiar?

If the management know this is happening then they should step in and sort it out.clayton is being paid too because taff well aren't having to pay him cos they've loaned him too us cos he's on a money contract with thm. Will it be us non paid players arguing or will it be the paid players arguing who gets most? JOKE

Dwyer didn't exactly stand out from the other centre half, you could hardly say he was the difference between the sides. Whitey and Omar you could say that easily - i'm not a wind-up, it just seemed obvious to me that they stood out in the second half.
who knows maybe Dwyer will stand out in different type of game where it's backs to the wall etc
it's a tricky situation and i think it depends on what is most important to those running the club - avoiding relegation on the pitch, or sticking loyal to the players who weren't getting results. The people running the club have obviously decided that staying up is the most important thing at the moment.
