Well I have just been writing Pontypridd Town's fixtures on the calendar and, at the moment, we finish with a home game against Treowen Stars on March 23rd. I am astonished to discover on the Welsh League website that there are Division 3 games lined up for the last Saturday in APRIL!!!! That means that we could wait for about 4-5 weeks for the league to be sorted out! This is what makes the Welsh League a joke. All teams should finish their fixtures by a certain date set by the league so that everyone has a level playing field!!! RANT OVER!!!!!

No doubt you'll be pleased to hear that the season, is more than likely, going to be extended until May

Doesn't surprise me in the least. It's about time that the league became more professional and stopped all the fixture extensions.

A team playing at the end of April can quite easily "manipulate" a result in its favour knowing what they need to get promoted/stay up. The other thing that needs to be done is the "how many going up/how many going down" palaver. It should be 3 up/3 down full stop!

I assume that it is 3 up/3 down but if anyone knows any different please let me know!!!!! Also, doesn't the new ground criteria kick in or am I wrong about that?

17 games for Ponypridd left ,only 12 saturdays before March 23rd, that means 5 floodflit games without any cancelations you will be playing into May?

Yes, we have floodlights so can play mid week. Surely it's about time that teams installed floodlights. It's ridiculous that teams such as Caerleon can play in division 1 without them.

Its almost certain that we are going to be playing in May, at the moment , my club have to rearrange three matches, fortunately we have floodlights and the teams we have to play have floodlights, the annoying fact is that teams cannot be made to play under floodlights, even in the Welsh cup, as we have found to our cost this season, our welsh Cup tie against Dinas Powis was postponed twice.

We havnt got them either Danny, despite applying for the WGI grant for both previous seasons.Think theres 6 or poss 7 of us without floodlights, would love to have them, but If Ton, Cam going play fridays we prefer saturdays crowd wise. Turned down last season because our ground, one biggest in league was deemed not big enough, due new Welsh League Criteria, that then wasnt even introduced, same with Cwmbran Celtic. Was told story perhaps you could confirm that when RBC,Cynon BC were merging the Cynon Council stated(behind closed doors) they werent going give any spare monies into the amalgamated Rhondda Council, thats how yourself,Taffs and Treforest ended up with lights, great story if true....We all would love top notch facilities, give us the grant monies...simples

Huw, I would suggest that you ask Bob Fry what is the best method to get a grant for lights as he managed to get approx 40 grand when he was Chairman of the League for his club Ely Rangers.
