street were hoping to build on the recent improvement in form, looking to take something from this game, with a tough encounter at llwydcoed to follow. The home side started brightly and several times early on there was panic in the tredegar back four, after a hurried clearance the street right back paul carro won a 60/40 tackle he had no right to halfway inside the visitors half,he strode on and from the edge of the box placed his shot wide of the keeper for 1-0 on 20mins,carro's first since a similar effort against pontypridd last december. He should have had his second soon after but after playing a perfect one-two with lee bishop shot over from close range. The street had much the better of the first half and it was no surprise when the second goal came, robert fowler chased a ball that looked to be going out for a corner, managed to get a cross in,which fell to james pennington to adjust and fire the ball into the roof of the net, tredegar were furious claiming the ball had gone out of play, sometimes playing til the whistle brings it's reward ;D The visitors forced a good near post save out of street stopper gareth peters as the half drew to a close HT 2-0.The 2nd half belonged mainly to tredegar as street stuggled to get out of second gear,it took an excellent reaguard display and a couple of first class saves from peters to keep the visitors at bay.Another 3pts to the cause and a clean sheet to boot, made for a happy evening.
