Maybe it's the name change from UWIC,but something seems to have happened at Cyncoed campus, both welsh league sides top of their respective leagues. We were beaten twice by the Met twice back in august possibly believing that their better players may still be on holiday. There's obviously plenty of strength in depth now,as the tables show and a very healthy goals for column, something I had a debate about with the late Mr.Evans last season when cow's arses and shovels were mentioned, but thats now been rectified with a half-century being reached all ready.Just shows I can write about something other than the Street !!! ;D

With Ponty's game called off at Abertillery last Saturday I took the opportunity to visit Llwydcoed to see their second v top encounter against the students. I thought it was going to be a close encounter but how wrong I was! Coed started brightly but once the students got their first goal there was only going to be one winner. They play nice, quick passing football from the back (none of this kick and rush stuff) and credit must go Christian Edwards and his staff. Coed didn't make things easy for themselves with a catalogue of errors including the keeper punching a corner into his own net! The final score was 5-0 but it could quite so easily been double figures such was the students' domination. I was very impressed and, provided they can keep this up over a season, they will walk away with the league.

The problem with the students , and it always has been , is that they develop a very good side, gain promotion , then lose most of their players when their courses finish, and down they come again, Also If you catch them at the start of the season or at any holiday time, they will struggle
