The first home game of the new management regime nearly got off to a wonderful start,a training ground move straight from kick off saw the ball in the visitors net within a minute only for tony borg's effort to be ruled out for offside by the harry hill lookalike official, neither side got the ball down early doors with NCS content to play the longer ball. They did though go in front after a poor kick from the street keeper fell straight to a civil player and was returned with interest into the top corner.Street were back level pretty quickly a push in the box and the resulting spot kick tucked away by nicky fish. This goal seemed to inspire the home side and they picked up their game and started to press forward a second goal came when tony borg neatly lifted the ball past the
keeper after a good Pennington knock down.Street were starting to play with more confidence now and goal no.3 came courtesy of
player manager craig dale who turned in after a save from the visitors keeper fell invitingly for him to pounce.HT 3-1,The consensus of opinion was that the next goal would be the vital one 3-2 NCS right back in it,or if the street got itgo on to wrap up a vital victory. The goal in fact went to the home side around the hour mark,a pennington ball down the inside channel inviting borg
to make the run, this he duly did but looked second best with sweeper covering across and goalie sprinting off his line.Borg just
got a toe in before the NCS players arrived and collided so composed himself to roll the ball into an empty net.The unfortunate keeper was clearly in some pain and he was forced to punch from under his crossbar after a fish inswinging corner forced more pressure. That was to be his last involvement as he lay prone in th 6yd box before being helped off, this meant the visitors left back having to deputise between the sticks, and street
now hoping to go on and finish matters, but fair dos the civil boys kept working hard and did pull one back to make things interesting. However a thoroughly deserved 3pts and another solid team performance.
