Positive Test

Ok, so the title is a bit mischievous but it only seems to get people talking when there is negativity flying about on this site.

Just thought I would TRY and start a bit of a chat on some people & clubs who are doing well at present and maybe get a few people to big up their own causes without others shooting them down.

Examples....

Undy Athletic have won I think 9 out of 10 games now in the race for promotion - no mean feat with the wealth everyone keeps saying there is in that division this year.

Cambrian & Clydach - how can anyone not be impressed with what they are doing this season having gradually built their ground, Club and team up over recent years. Their record is fantastic and remain on course for an invincible season (I know it's a tough ask) and a double.

Taffs Well - what a transformation to being bottom with 1 point after 4 games. And having watched them personllally just before Xmas I can vouch that they are a superb attacking side.

Monmouth - well they just go on and on don't they. We will see how much they miss their goalscorer now I suppose. What a record so far!

Mark Dunford at Dinas Powys in his first Managerial hot seat has started brightly with very limited resources. Derek Brazil has I think only lost once since taking over at Goytre United and new boys Porth under Scott Young continue to impress.

I could talk about many more, but for me, these are maybe the best examples of successes that had maybe not been predicted at the start of the season - or even in the early parts of it, apart from maybe Cambrian.

I hope someone else feels like sharing some positivity rather than slag off other clubs, players and Managers.............

Some very good points for discussion here. Cambrian are leading the way and look as if they will win the league but the change of form in Taffs Well an Goytre is fantastic. If both teams had started well I think they could have pipped it from Cambrian. Who knows they might still?

I think porth will be more than happy with the current position an maybe push on next season.

Very true Celtic ate 2nd an they should go on to record their highest ever finish. But the have played 5,6,7 games more than most. However they are having a fantastic season an points in the bag are better than games in hand

Anyone know why Caerau Ely are playing at Taffs Well?

It appears Cambrian will win division 1 at a canter, The club has grown over the last few years and their mini, junior and youth set up has to be admired.
We played Taffs Well 1st game of the season and won with a comfortable 3-0 win, on that day they looked like relegation material, but having signed some quality offensive players almost straight after our game, they have done superb to build and are one of the most dangerous teams in the league on their day.
Gareth Morgan at Cwmbran Celtic has done a superb job, players being released for disciplinary problems and bringing in a few experienced players has worked for him and the club.
Scott and his team have done very well at Porth with a bunch of players who all appear to want to play for him. Be a bonus if they keep onto the lad Coles at the back who I believe is a target for Merthyr Town.
For me involved at Ton, too many draws puts us mid table, the majority we should have come away with more points but certain games we got lucky. Swings and roundabouts i suppose, but with 9 home games in our last 13 we hope to have a good push towards the end of the season. A few additions over the last 2 weeks, Owen Davies and Joe Leahy from Merthyr, Jason Brewer from the buds, and hopefully 2 more important signings in crucial areas this week will settle us and give us a good footing to be able to sustain a mid to top half table position on our first season back in Division 1..
Division 2 looks like Monmouth town, Newport YM (who impressed me last season) and a few other clubs.
Division 3 is interesting, Ponty were looking good but Undy have been superb over the last 2 months, Bridgend St have secured the services of our own Dom Dwyer and always (on paper) looked very strong going forward but have now added steel defensively, Briton Ferry have the games in hand to go top. So it appears that 3 from 5 are fighting it out there.

Funny old game as greavesy said, but there will be a lot more twists and turns yet..
