Congratulations to Kieran O'Connor the Welsh League Assistant Secretary and Treasurer in succeeding David Griffiths as President of the FAW and also Mike Jones Chairman of the Welsh League has been confirmed as a Vice President of the FAW.

Congrats to them, however they will be very fortunate to be in post at such as an exciting time as David Griffiths, the European Championship Semi-Finals, I hope David had a great time in the post during that tournament meeting wonderful players and high profile managers and FIFA, UEFA officials, so glad for him, it could not have happened to a nicer guy, met him numerous times carrying out "criteria inspections" for the SWFA.
For those who do not know David he spent most of his life involved with grass roots football, run Maesteg Park for years overseeing their pinnacle achievements and unfortunately their demise. He should be proud of what he achieved at that club and all he has achieved since stepping away from club football. like I said it could not have happened to a nicer, more genuine guy.

as long as there’s prawn sandwiches, executive boxes, plush hotels and club class travel there will always be a clamber for being presidents and vice presidents.

I’m not sure about contribution but my unbiased, tactful and diplomatic nature would be an asset if I had the role. I know Mike and I’m sure he will do a splendid job I can’t speak for the other fellow as I’ve not come across him but well done both. What will their roles involve in the day to day physics of FaW ? Have you contributed enough in grassroots football, to put your name in "hat" for a prestige FAW post, vogdog |
