What happened there? I know Caerau are not the same Caerau from 2/3 seasons back, but that is a crazy result!

I've heard it was Dale Price's engagement party last night and as anticipate the knees went so well that none of the 1st team players fancied a Nathaniel League Cup-tie the next day. they fielded their Bridgend League side hence the shocking 20-0 scoreline. Their attitude wreaks of "it doesn't matter there were no league pts on the table, merely a worthless cup-tie". IMO Caerau have paid the competition + sponsors Nathaniel Cars scant respect + the league management committee should come down hard on them. You would have thought the engagement party could have been staged during the close season, but supposedly that's too simplistic. Penybont cast a dark shadow over the Welsh League last week over discipline...........a week later Caerau have done likewise through a sheer lack of respect to a Welsh League competition.

F.ing hell. My past experiences with caerau have been a club as hard as nails and never a pushover. Always games you had to earn a result.. what sort of statement was that yday? Someone should be accountable for that episode.

They haven't done anything wrong. They fielded a team and got battered so League cannot do anything. If they chose to play with 11 16-year-olds then there is nothing that can be done.

I think you'll find the Welsh League mamanagement committee can delve into the Caerau 20-0 drubbing to STM because each club has to field its full-strength side in all matches. Team sheets from matches this season will be compared with the STM cup-tie - and presumably mass changes will be found. So, Caerau ain't out of the wood yet. I'm also led to believe that Caerau are holding a meeting with the players on Weds night. But you'd think if manager were to go then the 1st team players would follow him thru the exit door. Thick as thieves springs to mind in Caerau.

It’s ok they’ve always got Paul Merson on stand by. It sounds like Mrs Merton was in goals yesterday. A disgrace of the highest proportion and a kick in the goolies for the league and it’s sponsor Nathaniel Car Sales. Also an embarrassment tor the place itself.

How are the league going to prove that 40 players wasn't available due to work, holidays going shopping with wife etc. Just cannot be done and nothing will be done. Just a shame on Caerau really given it's Welsh League history

Fair point, knowing Caerau fielded a Bridgend League strength side + proving it is a different kettle of fish. Supposedly too Welsh Lge management got bigger fish to fry. But with the sniff of a few bob on Sat in the Welsh Cup, I suspect the Caerau "superstars minus Merse" will be back for the home tie with Pontyclun. Can't somehow see them losing this one 20-0. I know clubs don't always field their strongest sides in the early rounds of the cup, but fair play to Caerau they have massively devalued the competition + brought shame on this famous old Llynfi Valley club. Folk who down the years put their hearts + souls into the club have in the last few days probably turned in their graves.

Coming from someone who has played for caerau and supported them Saturday was the most embarrassing event in the clubs 100+ year history. I know it’s easy to blame the players for their attitude towards the game but my feeling towards it is that that attitude has filtered down from the people running the club. Chairman, secretary committee and manager the club is being run by people that don’t care enough about it and that shows on the field. The club needs people in charge that know how important and special it is to represent it.
