Congrats Cwmbran Celtic, obtained TIER2 Licence 12th August 2018 !!
The compliance with I.05 means that Celtic Park, Cwmbran, is now rated as a Tier 2 compliant ground and Cwmbran Celtic are permitted to play Tier 2 matches at The Stadium with immediate effect and for season 2018 2019.
What happened to April 2018 ??

Exactly, the whole thing is a farce. What it Monmouth Town or Caerau Ely had managed to get their grounds up to standard in time for the start of the new season? Good luck to Celtic by the way, but double standards are rife.

I try not to say a lot as you all know but in the case of the deadline date imposed by the FAW it is an absolute joke - they change the rules to suit themselves and little people like us just have to sit there and take it - question them and you are told it is "secret" not allowed to reveal the content of their meetings - think that the authorities have forgotten that without the clubs they have no jobs !!!!!!

I believe Celtic only needed to make the pitch slightly bigger to meet the Tier 2 criteria, maybe im wrong though. If this is the case then doing this work during the season wouldn't have been possible so the obvious answer is to complete this minor upgrade during the off season.
If the FAW can see sides have done everything they can to achieve the licence then surely a common sense approach for something that can only be done out of the season is the right thing?

At last the powers that be have shown some sign of common sense but aren't they the same people that refused aberaman promotion a few years ago as they couldn't put floodlights in until season was over? Not much difference in my eyes

Was " Common Sense" in the criteria, were all clubs offered rules and "common sense" ?
If so why did Llantwit Major play a home game at Jenner Park, to get stand built, if "common sense" prevailed surely they could have had a month after last game to get stand built.

Were they not approved to ground share with Goytre by the deadline ? That would have let them play in Div 1. Now that their ground is approved it looks like they have been given permission to move back.

Llantwit reluctantly played 2 games at Jenner park butvthatchad nothing to do with building a stand. It was purely to get games played

Wasn’t it “completed, or necessary contracts to carry the work out signed”?

Wasn’t it “completed, or necessary contracts to carry the work out signed”? The bus shelter stand had been there for a couple of years just hadctonput seats in. A path also had to be laid which left a mess but it was the poor pitch conditions which led to the switch. I might be wrong though

Sorry
I mean regarding ground criteria upgrades. Wasn’t it stated at the time that if work wasn’t completed, you had to have signed contracts in place showing it would be done in time for season?

Think you need to move on chaps + concentrate on the season that's now well underway. IMO the problems experienced with criteria over the past few months are going to pale into insignificance once the current season is over and the FAW Championship South which underpins the Welsh Prem is born along with a 64-club (split into 4 divisions) FAW League One. That will light the blue touchpaper................and then the fighting will really start.

I commend Llantwit for getting 100 seats put in their stand. However, they are not fit for purpose. They are all on the same level and when I went to the home game against STM people just stood in front of the stand so no-one would be able to see anyway!! But it passes the criteria and that's all that matters in the FAW eyes
