Watched Pontypridd v Llanwern last Saturday and it wasnt pretty from Pontypridd they just launched 30 yard balls into the box and must have launched about 40 long throws in as well , Llanwern defended well but it wasnt pretty to watch so i disagree Ponty are a footballing side and having watched Bridgent Street i think they are very strong going forward but weaker defensively so it could make for a 5-5 draw !!!

To be honest i haven't seen ponty play having missed the game against b.s. but people have told me they try to play a good passing game so for me it is all hearsay,if what you say about launching the long ball is true b.s will be organized at the back Mr Kendall has brought a more professional approach to the way they defend. i still believe it will be an interesting game pontypridd are not leading the division because they are a poor side.b.s have beaten undy twice and faired well against other top six teams so are no mugs match of the day for me ,5all i doubt that very much but who knows.

I suppose anybody seeing Man U in midweek might also say they are not a footballing side but who is stupid enough to go on one game and ignore league tables.

Ponty were very much long ball from the fullbacks in the game i saw but WHO SAID IT WASNT EFFECTIVE FAIRPLAY? There's nothing wrong with that style if it works for you.

I agree with you Mishman it was a great game considering the high wind and heavy pitch but it provided excellent entertainment and classy goals. I also include Ponty's Leigh Phillips bullet header in the last minute which one neutral said was a typical John Charles goal. A bumper crowd and a game that had everything. Have a good Christmas.

Thankyou to all those that attended on Saturday and I'm sure you'll agree you had VFM. Both teams put on a good show. How we never won is one of life's wonders but big credit to Ponty for going for broke at the end via route one and grabbing a 93rd minute equaliser. They showed great character in the face of adversity. We should have had the game wrapped up by half time. It was a quiet day for our keeper apart from him picking the ball out of the net twice but that's the beauty of football... total excitement and entertainment. Let's not lose sight of an excellent performance by the referee Ryan Hillier-Smith, a young man that appears to be destined for bigger things in Welsh football officiating. Shame about the one particular linesman who has "previous" with us attendance 247 Merry Xmas to all fellow clubs and the WL management committee. Bridgend Street FC www.bridgendstreet.com
