Just read that Neuadd Wen have folded and the Gwent County League 1st division will run a club short for the coming season. Ebbw Vale also folded

The Gwent County Leagues are more than one team short. They are now operating with 41 teams instead of the normal 48.

Interesting attachments Huw, my 1st season in WL was 75/76 for Tonyrefail Welfare, quick count indicates 36 teams in that season, no longer in WL or WPL

Grange Quins one of the more recent defunct teams was a terrible demise. A team with a very strong community ethic that was run into the ground. I hope Leckwith is kinder to the latest Welsh League incumbents. Knowing one or two of the Ponty backers I’m sure they’ll succeed and don’t lurch into the murky waters that the Quins drowned in. Having sensible and realistic managers is vital when playing at an expensive ground.
