A big congrats must go to Rhondda based Trebanog who tonight won promotion to the South Wales Alliance Premier Division after finishing 3rd in Division 1.
This means the club have been promoted in each of their last three seasons (2016:Rhondda Premier League, 2017: SWAL 2 and 2018: SWAL1.
To go from forming in 2014 or something to one promotion away from Welsh League isn't bad in anyone's books.
Well done Banog!

I've seen on social media as well that the three clubs that a year ago were promoted from Alliance Div 2, Cefn Cribwr, Garw + Trebanog, have done likewise this year. Well done to all three, nice to see former Welsh League club Garw on the way back up, but I doubt whether iconic Blandy would pass new criteria test for them to get back into Welsh League...would have to be the dreaded ground-share. So, whose to say this "terrific trio" won't ruffle some feathers in the top flight of the Alliance next winter.

Would be great to see a Bridgend valleys side back in the WL. Since Bettws went a couple of years ago there's been a gap!
