What a win tonight for Neuadd Wen, triumphing 3-1 at Ely Rangers to go above the professional relegation dodgers on goal-difference at the bottom of div 3. Though games running out for Ely, you still wouldn't bet against them winning their last 4 matches. See two former Welsh League clubs, Albion Rovers + Abertillery Bluebirds, slugging it out for the Gwent title + Welsh Lge div 3 next winter. Looks too tight to call with even goal-diff tight. S W Alliance champs-elect Penydarren came from 2-0 tonight to win 7-2 at Merthyr Saints. Penydarren almost there.

From Bridgend streets Facebook page
Tonight’s away game at Caerau F.C. in Maesteg was called off shortly before kick off due to the pitch being deemed dangerous. The game has been re-arranged for this Thursday. The match will be played on the 3G surface at Penybont FC, kick-off is scheduled for 8.15pm (20.15hrs). Many thanks to Caerau for providing hospitality back at their clubhouse this evening even though the game was off. No blame apportioned for the late postponement it was just one of those things that can happen in football.

You’re right Vogdog a great win but a lot of football to play! Ely Rangers travel to Treowen tonight in a huge game then visit us on Saturday....Div 3 relegation battle is turning into a right tasty affair. Chepstow have 3 tough games left and if the recent form of us and Treowen continues they could still be dragged into the fold! It would be helpful for all clubs concerned if there was some clarity on how many will actually go down, the rumour mill says one but only a fool would bank on that!

It looks as though Albion Rovers will be entering the Welsh League then as a home win will guarantee them promotion. Sais game is against local rivals Malpas Civil Service so I assume they will have something to say about it but with a cup final this weekend perhaps their focus will be elsewhere come next week.

Who else goes up with Swansea is firmly in Swansea`s hands. It will be very interesting to see what sort of side they put out against BS LOL

Thas absolute garbage about they’re 2nd string playing against Tref when we beat them it was in October not august they played there best side and we should have been 3 or 4 up before we gave away a stupid penalty but they did come at us late to try and pinch a point it was a good game but we took our foot of the gas. It drives me stupid when you win a game and then you here someone saying they had boys suspended injured or working lala

I don't think Albion Rivers have applied to join the Welsh League, so 2nd place Abertillery Bluebirds should be back in Div 3 next season

Incorrect Scoutman.....Albion Rovers HAVE applied for promotion back to Welsh League. Three others applied from Gwent County League - Abertillery Bluebirds, Cwmbran Town + Villa Dino Christchurch.

😳wow are you for real serious ?? Asking me to remember another teams line up from over 6 months ago ! I’ve got a life mate. Every team haves weeks where they’ r missing players and that’s the whole idea of having strength in depth. The bottom line is the result of a match and the fact it’s 11 v 11 from each club no excuses. All this cack about only losing because players were away is disrespectful to the players that did play. Ah and your bit about Tref staying in the 3 rd for another year = actions speak louder than words so let’s play football 👌 Thas absolute garbage about they’re 2nd string playing against Tref when we beat them it was in October not august they played there best side and we should have been 3 or 4 up before we gave away a stupid penalty but they did come at us late to try and pinch a point it was a good game but we took our foot of the gas. It drives me stupid when you win a game and then you here someone saying they had boys suspended injured or working lala Have a look at the team they played and have a look at the team that started for Swansea last night,2 different teams. But I don’t think they give a shit they have pissed the league and are about to make tref stay in div 3 for another year .

Bridgend Street or Trefelin BGC is a very tight one to call, both play Swansea University and both play Panteg, all four matches being mid week, difficult playing surface at Panteg. Bridgend Street has home advantage against Swansea University, whoever beats the University lads will probably go up. Pointless debating how good a team was and what players were playing before Christmas etc, etc. Just get on with it and do the talking on the pitch as some one stated. Very difficult to predict the outcome, and why do only 2 go up from division three anyway? Why cant it be three up three down?

We've had this debate here before, the FAW decreed a few years ago that in order to standardise promotion across the pyramid system only two teams were to be promoted/relegated between tiers 4 and 3. The WL had to fall in line with all other leagues in Wales.

The WL had to fall in line with all other leagues in Wales. Why would they do that? The English Pyramid demotes and promotes four teams through these tiers so it cannot be a Uefa requirement. Would it have not been easier to do 3, bit gutting for the team who finishes 3rd after such a long hard season not to get promoted.
