Apparently so. However they as well as everyone has to match the criteria by the end of April. Unless they say they plan to ground share

Their new ground meets all the criteria It's not built. We know it will happen but any team could say that. Surely like everybody else they have to meet the criteria by the date required

I personally wish Ponty all the best. A club with ambition and who appear to have learned from their quick fix mistakes of the past.

They are building a stadium for them at the university. Wonder how long the name change will take. 1000 seats so a fair investment being made by the university.

Or how long will it take before a University team is formed and ground shares hoping through the leagues until finally they will be in the Welsh League. Great news for Ponty Though, fully compliant ground, I dont think it has to be completed by April deadline, as long as the development is confirmed the powers that be in the FAW will be happy with that. I forgot to ask, is it going to be 3G/4G or a grass pitch?

Wow. i wonder what is in this ground building venture for the university, unless they have WPL aspirations?

Wow. i wonder what is in this ground building venture for the university, unless they have WPL aspirations? It will also be used to host Wales youth football.

I may be being a bit slow on the uptake here, but why would the University build a new 1000 seater ground for the benefit of Wales Youth Football and Pontypridd Town FC? I wouldn't have assumed there would have been enough revenue from renting the ground out to make this a viable proposition. So I would also assume that University themselves must have a business case that involves utilising the ground themselves, but why would they need 1000 seats?
i am far from knocking anyone here as this would y be a positive move for Wales Youth and Pontypridd Town but I am struggling to see what the University would gain.

I am sure that USW as one of the top BUCS football teams in the UK have looked at the progress of Cardiff Met and Swansea Uni and are looking to go the same way. First the WL, then WPL then European competition. Pontypridd/USW FC then USW FC inside 3yrs? The investment firstly is for the benefit of USW.

Ah. Makes sense. How do Pontypridd Town feel about this? In this day and age with little funding opportunities and increased criteria for progression PontyPridd Town have realised that this is an opportunity they cannot let pass. The University is making a massive investment, one the club could never ever achieve (unless one of its committee members wins the Euro Millions). Ultimately the University will want to imprint itself on the team that eventually progresses onto the WPL. I should imagine Ponty know the chance they are taking and there is a possibility of losing its identity, but at the end of the day it will still be called Pontypridd something, possibly Town University or just Pontypridd University, it is a sacrifice worth risking for state of the art brand new facilities. I should imagine most of the players and fans of Pontypridd Town would be in support of this team regardless of the name, it will be representing Pontypridd and that is the most important thing. Thats my opinion, it would be nice to hear what someone involved with Pontypridd Town thinks?
