Agree with Jeffers actually. Always believed its the scarcity of goals that make football special not their abundance , or maybe the difficulty in scoring them. That said the rules do need to reward attacking play and the changes since 1990 have consistently been aimed at doing that with a lot of success. Otherwise we'd all watch basket ball. First to miss loses.

Lee I thought Monmouth fans would prefer to see the goals being scored by their team rather win by the odd goal. Dont you think Man City fans prefer them to play as they are? If you think scarcity of goals is better for the game maybe they should narrow the posts.

It is great winning a closely competitive match and also seeing your team win by 6 goals, as long as you win really And if you are defeating teams by "too many" goals each week it might just be a sign your are playing at a higher level than the rest of the league and the club is going places (promotion) unless you hit the glass ceiling of division one (without the capitol to move up)

I think I played in that Ton 1 - 4 Cambrian game lol Who does fairplay support? I hope it's fairly clear I'm not picking on any club in particular, simply stating that Division 1 is a higher standard than Divisions 2 or 3. This is from my personal experience of both playing in and watching all three divisions. Division 3 doesn't have linesmen, maybe that's why there are more goals?

Separate the subjective from the objective. As a football fan (of Monmouth Town/Cardiff City) I'd personally like us to smash everyone every week. Better for my nerves and mental well being. AS a fan of football I think scoring goals should be at premium (generally) and be a measure of high skill rather than defensive errors. It is what makes our sport unique and the world game.
If the americans had their way and we had wider posts fewer players smaller keepers and it was 7-6 every week or worse 6 - 0 then we'd soon be bored. 0 - 0 's can be really enthralling.

i would argue that GENERALLY the managers will be more experienced in the higher divisions and set their teams out with very specific tasks. GENERALLY in the lower divisions the games will be more open because there are less of these tactics on the go - Although im sure quite a few teams will do this in Div 3!
Also, in my opinion, the linesmen tend to miss loads of decisions, they only really effect the game because the defenders/strikers are more aware of their positioning in respect to offsides.

I agree with Jeffers and Lee on this. In the Gwent division we're in now we've racked up 6s and 7s and we're currently averaging 3 goals a game (and conceding almost as many!).
It's fun at the moment, but when you're four or five goals clear some us fans (who have experienced four relegations in recent times) find it hard not to switch off.
Same a F1 in a way: we want overtaking, but we don't want artifical overtaking that happens 5 or 6 times a lap.

first of all have to say the quote saying that the league covered all 3 divisions in terms of the goalscorers what a load of rubbish, it is alot easier for a striker to score 20 goals in division 3 compared to 1,
there should be individual tables for each league goalscorers, as we've seen monmouth and britton ferry have been destroying teams in their respective leagues with their main men topping the goalscoring charts, but up against cambrian these top goalscorers hardly had a touch never mind shot, i know that dan mac scored a free kick but that was his only shot, the point im trying to make is monmouth an the other top teams in the lower leagues cant even be compared to what cambrian have achieved cause its a lot higher standard as they proved by hammering monmouth and such teams

hope the defensive purists are not watching us at the moment. We are chucking them in, but we also have a goal in us.. Cant wait for the derby tomorrow, great decision to hold it on a friday night as anticipate a bigger crowd and better atmosphere. Rhondda bragging rights at stake and hopefully we can have a good go at Cam and break their duck egg in the loss column
