They’re giving a splendid account even though they’re 2-0 down half time. The Dogometer can see this being 6 or 7 though because fitness is going to overcome them. The keeper for Pen is their weakness he should have done better with the first goal but his weight prevented him from diving. He had plenty of time to see the shot

Unlucky not to get a consolation goal, well done to Penydarren.

Penydarren done very well, however it was a step to far, the Bangor guys are full time paid players (I assume so) and the difference in quality was there for everyone to see. I thought the defense was very strong, especially the left back and the two guys up front, both of who had tidy hat-tricks with the one getting MOM, although I thought the Bangor left back was MOM, he was in total control and it was often his long accurate pass that set up most attacks. They appeared to bypass the midfield a lot for some reason, I thought in midfield though the Bangor boys never seemed top notch with the Penydarren midfield doing quite well winning their fair share of the ball. All in all a good pay day for Penydarren from the TV and Welsh Cup winnings, also they will have a FAW Trophy pay out, this money should come in handy for their maiden season in the Welsh League next season.

They'll need that money to pay Chrissy Owens goal bonuses.

Bangor were not at their best. You expect them to win by a couple at home to bottom of the welsh premier so for Penydarren to put on that performance was something to be proud of for sure. Last 3 goals were against the run of play but of course quality prevailed. Great contest despite the scoreline. Just a huge pity that the previous round went ahead with them conditions at Ponty.

Penydarren need to keep their feet on the ground after all thee hype because it’s been seen before that a loss in one competition can have a domino effect on momentum. It’s difficult to see them not winning the league unless Merthyr Saints have a big say along with Pen dropping points. They’re going to have a heck of a backlog!

Yes, the bits I saw of it seeme to suggest the goalie wasn't too clever, but what an amazing cup run it was. It's certainly highlighted the S Wales Alliance has some decent teams. I agree to a degree with Voggie that Penny now must avoid the dominoes toppling over but he only highlighted that Merthyr Saints are their main rivals for the Alliance title. There's a little old club in his neck of the woods that in the past has gone mighty close to getting in the Welsh League and they are called Sully Sports. Twice they failed in SWFA play-offs to L Major + Rhoose and they could still have a part to play in who eventually is crowned Alliance champs. Anyway, Merthyr Saints haven't even applied for promotion to the Welsh League - the 3 from the Alliance are Penydarren, Cardiff Dracs + Sully Sports. And if a club that hasn't applied to go up (like Merthyr Saints) should win the Alliance then either Penydarren, Cardiff Dracs or Sully Sports could go up on a second-placed ticket.

I can’t imagine Merthyr Saints making the ground criteria anyway.

A cracking run and a superb advert for the SW Alliance league.
Given that they are still in the FAW Trophy. the SWFA Senior Cup and the John Owen Cup - they must still have about 25-30 games left to play before about mid-May!
Fair play to them, as once the clocks change and the midweek 6pm kick offs start, it's a really hard time of year. They'll no doubt be stuck with a few Tues-Thurs-Sat weeks - which will be tough!
They'll have definitely earned it if they make it up to WL

Welsh football’s most prestigious competition at the quarter finals stage drew an average attendance of a whopping 235 for last night’s 3 ties. Ok a Tuesday night probably wasn’t as accessible as a Saturday or Sunday but it’s proof that the FaW are living in cuckoo land with their unrealistic demands of 250 minimum seating criteria. On the flip side them feeble turn outs were dwarfed by Bangor City who had more at their game than the other 3 ties put together against unfashionable Pendarren despite it being shown on Sgorio.
