Well I’ve just been informed that take 2 of this game will go ahead after a pitch inspection at 1pm this afternoon passes the test, I’ll be setting off from Newport with my fingers crossed that this game will finally go ahead after being called off when I got to the ground last time around. With it set to be minus 5 at the time of kick off and the state of the caerau pitch at the last time of visiting I’m not holding out much hope. But who knows miracles do happen, I just hope the myself and the players who are leaving work early, along with the management and officials don’t get let down again this evening !!

This in fact is the 3rd time for Caerau v Newport City to be called off....original date, Christmas + now Beast from the East (Voggie?). So, hopefully it will be 4th time lucky, and who knows it might be graced by Merse.

Not at all surprised, only a complete ejit would have called it on. Hasn't got above -3 here all day, is Caerau on a different planet? Can't see a single game on this weekend even on plastic.

There’s a small covering in my estate in the Port from a bit of a battering earlier for half an hour and it’s freezing hard now

At least the snow prevented there from being another floodlight failure.

They’ve got new lights there. The Paul Merson game money paid for them. I was up there last Friday for the Ely game where there were no issues with the lighting at all

It didn't snow last night?
What were the grounds to call it off?

League made rod for own back on this one when Porth were allowed to call game off at Pontypridd due to being snowed in when roads were photographed as being clear
Once it’s allowed for that, everytime a freezer door is left open longer than a minute it’s open to be used again
