This game came 3 weeks after a cup encounter which goytre united won 1-0.
Ton came into the game on the back of a very good 4-0 away win at Caerau Ely, but once again, similar to the cup game conceded an early goal, this time a reckless challenge by centre half Tom Davies giving Goytre a 1-0 lead through a Robbie Walters penalty. Both sides had half chances to increase the score but it appeared deja vu for Ton as they dominated the game but without any clear cut scoring chances.
Ex Goytre United midfielder Richard Ingram then levelled the scores at 1 each with a blistering left foot finish from 30 yards which left the Goytre keeper with less than no chance. HT 1-1
Ton came out for the 2nd half with a purpose, A cross from Young, a flick on from Fowler and Antoniazzi with a diving header on the back stick put Ton in control of the game.
A lot of banter between each dug out added variety to the game and only very sensible refereeing kept the game under control.
Ton introduced new signing Dale Smith and he gave the Goytre centre hlaves of Morgan and meacock no end of trouble as Ton appeared the only side that was going to go on and win the game.
With 5 minutes left, a long thumping free kick was failed to be dealt with by all Ton's centre halves and goalkeeper which resulted in Craig Steins predatory instincts salvaging a point for the Port Talbot base side from nowhere. FT 2-2
Another sickening result for Ton Pentre but its now forward to a friday night game against Bridgend Town at Ynys Park. 7:30 kick off
