i watched bridgend street against undy yesterday and what a great advert for welsh league football at this level, undy are a very good side and probably deserved a draw there keeper had a great game keeping bridgend street at bay i believe bridgend street were missing five players and the lad sugar there main man seemed to be not with it on the day,but they came away with a win and they will be happy with that to play badly and win could be the sign of a team who will challenge for div three honours.

Don't want to be one of those teams using players out for an excuse all the time so not 5 out just 3, our skipper Craig, Marcus and Chrissy Davies but hey that's what a squads all about. Two reserve team players called up and one of them pops up with the winner! Have to agree with the above though an excellent Undy team that deserved a share of the points.

Undy are a very good side and will do well this season have not seen Bridgend Street yet but after this result they must be looking good for promotion, Llanwern, Ferry and Street for promotion in what will be a great Div 3 this season.

Ponty were very unlucky against WLD1 opposition and being out of the cup will only help the league cause. They are maybe 2 signings short of being a team who would more than hold their own in WLD1.

The only part of that is true is that being out of the cup will help their league position, the rest Im afarid in my humble opinion is not.

I also heard that Undy had a few players missing who might have made a difference and watching the game i felt a draw would have been a very fair result. Cracking game either way!

Good praise on here for the Undy team...nice to see the ex Caldicot Town lads doing well. Smallcombe in goals is quality and you can see why Caldicot are where they are now that the likes of Cullimore, Smallcome, Edwards, Heywood, Vers, Cave (sorry if I missed anyone!) having left. Undy for promotion not Llanwern but agree with Ferry and Street. Caldicot playing Gwent County in Two years time with Cwmbran...if they survive another year after this!
Happy Days
