Tough one for us. They beat us at home and we beat them at their place last season. Would have prefered an away tie but it could have been worse.
Big chance for either Nelson or Aberaeron to make the 1st round proper.
Merthyr Town v a D2 side should make for an interesting camparison...

Interesting draw for us at Aberbargoed Buds with a Gwent Derby to look forward to. Be good to renew old acquaintances with Abercarn from our Gwent County days. It's fair to say they were pretty tough games back then and no doubt it will be the same this time around.

Well Geezer my boy, you may very well not give a "Flying Fuck" about Merthyr Town, but your prediction of 2-1 in favour of Caerau will be a mile off the mark. Caerau will do exceptionally well to keep Merthyr to below 7 and scoring themselves. Mark my words!! As for the rest of your spurious predictions.........I cannot comment.

Merthyr won 5-0 on the weekend in front of 500+.
That's why i think it'll be an interesting comparison. People will be making comparisons with all three exiles (assuming they take the competition seriously).
For my part i think Merthyr will beat Caerau. We will see a more even game if they come up against a top-half D1 side in my opinion. They still have some players from their Southern League days after all.

I think you will find, that Merthyr won 7-1 last saturday. What's going to happen now, Merthyr have a FA Cup tie with Bitton on the 03rd Sept.

My sir I gave my predictions and payed no attention to the geography but can see what you mean, though in fairness i have tipped the boys from uwic in cardiff to get a result Merthyr in my book are not a Welsh team they are a poorly run team who have probably spent more money in severn bridge tolls last season than they have on paying their debts. Tydfil/Town is tantamount to a bankrupt businessman setting up a new business in his wife's name. Rusty ground and playing in the English pyramid so why have the right to play in OUR cup?

It was 7-1 to Merthyr and Caerau should still be in div 3 this season, but for the farce with Treowen in the last game, Goytre were well and truly screwed.

I was part of the Goytre set up last term as physio and yes Tony you are right the result was an absolute disgrace, but not to take it away from caerau they were a good team, beat us at their place and drew at ours and if we took any more points off them then we would have been in Division 2. Caerau are a decent team and will give Merthyr a good game and it will be a good experience for them and I hope they do well in Division 2
