Once again we could find ourselves with another delayed start to the season due to the appeal process of the relegated sides. What gets to me is that it seems that if you "appeal" you have a good chance of flexing the rules in your favour as what happened last season with Risca & Pontyclun. Is the Welsh League Committee that gutless that after having set out rules they then take these back if anyone challenges them.So what is the point of the rules clubs either adhere to them or we may as well scrap them !!! Will the Welsh League committee spend more of their hard earned cash on legal fees or will they succumb to the pressure of the relegated clubs who are appealing and save their money for more official ties and the like ?

The Clubs who are appealing do so to the FAW not the Welsh League therefore WL Committee Members have no control over the outcome. Please get your facts right before making disparaging remarks about people you most probably don't know.
THe bottom clubs should be relegated. They were not good enough on the field of play to retain their places. As has been said before it what happens on the pitch which should decide not how good or bad the perception of the facilities are.

If people dont want their players and supporters to have good facilities why dont they resign from the League and go to a level of football that they are more comfortable with.

Perfectly summed-up in one sentence But grant money must be made avilable too, to go with what the club can raise themselves.

Since ive been involved with the league the management committee have been saying that they want to bring in ground criteria to improve clubs facilities to make it a more enjoyable experience for all, officials, players, supporters and help bring more supporters to watch the games. But really have not had the money to put into the game to back this. ALL 4 clubs that are being relegated out of the league meet the ground criteria while some still do not have the basic 2004 criteria, which in fact was brought in in 1997, so these clubs really have had long enough to sort their grounds out... but no they still insist in paying players in an amateur league.

at the end of the day the bottom 2 should go down as they finished in a legitimate relegation position if the welsh league decided at the start of the season that the bottom 5 clubs would lose their welsh league status then they should bite the bullet and try to regain their league place through the proper channels My club were 1 of the clubs who finished above teams who retained their league status on appeal and im pretty sure nobody wants to see it happen again

you're missing the point.
the ground criteria are there for a reason. the welsh league has previously stated that all clubs must meet the criteria in order to remain members of the league.
if a club does not meet the ground criteria, they have no right to be in the league. otherwise every team might as well play on a parks pitch.
this is totally unfair to teams that spend their money on developing their facilities.
(i'm thinking of teams like croesyceiliog, cwmbran celtic, bryntirion, garden village, aberbargoed buds, pontyclun, llwydcoed, ton pentre who have all made improvements over the last couple of years)

I quite agree sportsman. Ground criteria are there for a reason.
I can understand the frustration of teams who lose their place whilst others with lower standard facilities remain, hence the appeals. However, I also have some understanding for the point of view of all who say 'if you're at the bottom, you're not good enough, so accept it'.
This problem has clearly been caused by the Welsh League's reluctance (for whatever reason(s)) to enforce their rulings against clubs with sub-standard facilities. Until they take a stand and tell all clubs at the start of a season that they'll be relegating clubs who do not meet the criteria, the same arguments will happen every summer.

The fact is that all Clubs have ben visited over the past year and a list of Clubs who did not meet the 2004 was sent to all clubs concerned and also listed in the minutes of the WL Management Committee sent to all WL Clubs.
Most of the faults seemed to be lack of toilet/wash basins in Refs rooms. Theses faults were rectified either permanently or by the use of chemical toilets whilst building work was to be carried out over the close season.
It then left all clubs meeting the MINIMUM criteria. If you visited all clubs again today I expect you would find something wrong.
A new criteria has ow ben brought and all clubs have until the end of the 2012-13 season to upgrade their grounds.

And we will have the same problem all over again. the League committee need to be tough and throw clubs out who really dont meet the standard. And we all know who they are!

the minimum criteria are a joke though, aren't they.
on one hand you've got Aberaman being refused promotion because they refused to cancel games in order to get their floodlights installed on time (in May!).
then on the other hand you've got Treharris playing on the smallest pitch in the whole world with showers in an open corridor and Caerleon whose changing rooms are so small the team spills over into the showers and outside.
i'm not picking on those two clubs, they are just two of the most obvious examples.

So ... is it all gossip, or does anybody know for sure;
1. Which clubs have appealed against their relegation? 2. Which clubs are being suggested as not meeting the criteria in those appeals? 3. When any such appeals will be heard?

I notice that the Welsh League Third Division fixtures page on the WL website no longer carries the line 'WITHOUT PREJUDICE', so I assume either that there were no appeals after all, or that any appeals that were made were not successful.
