It would seem that Welsh League Football is not devoid of the managerial merry-go-round. No sooner have games started being played on a weekly basis with no further postponements than the Managerial exit door is being shown / taken.
Bridgend Town & Cwmbran Town are the latest clubs to have lost their Managers over the past week.
I am not sure if this is correct, but someone said on Sunday that the timing of these may have come about because the transfer deadline may be looming large and so Clubs may look to make a change in time for the new incumbent to be able to bring in some new faces?!? I am not sure how true that is!

I am a bit copnfused as to how this can be construed as that seeing as from what I have been told both vacancies were caused by resignations - not dismissals!?
And the saying goes Mr Albion, that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones - you may want to revert back and read some of your posts on this message board this season before casting aspersions on others!
Does anyone sensible out there have a view on this? It always saddens me to hear that Managers have gone during the season itself.

I'm also confused! I've not read anything about Bridgend losing their manager? And i'm pretty sure i'd know whether our manager had walked!! Perhaps you meant Briton Ferry? Although they now have a new guy in place.

Well Counting Crows I am sorry to be the one to break it to you, but I know four of your players so can confirm that it would seem you may not know if such a thing occured!
Mark Sage left Bridgend Town last Friday and Craig Lima took charge of the team on Saturday and will be doing so until the end of the season.
Only reason I know both of these stories to be true are due to the fact that I am in touch with players from both camps and they have told me.
Sorry to be the barer of bad news to you - I have heard your club's news so much over the last 24 hours I really did believe it to be common knowledge

Thanks for the info Legend. I have no reason to disbelieve you, but i'm going to text around now for confirmation from the club. The result on Saturday wasn't really the manager's fault so i wonder if there's more to it than just result. We went 5 games unbeaten recently afer all... And yes, just read elsewhere about Bridgend. I just would have thought them losing thier manager would hit welsh-premier.com etc. Thanks again for the info!

If the news is correct that barry hughes has left please follow him out the door mrs chairwoman and take the so called people that run the club with you. The present people who have taken this club from welsh prem to the fringes of the gwent county league in 5 years should walk away now. Do the decent thing purcell and company go now before you kill this club off for good.

Please, PLEASE can this not degenerate into a "We hate the Cwmbran Chairwoman and Committee" again. We have hearde it all before and frankly it's unhelpful and boring. If you are so intent on saying what is wrong with the club - any club - why don't you offer those of us who read and contribute on this forum some of your alternative ideas etc. I am no CTFC fan and don't even know those people copncerned, but I have met a lot of people over the last decade who are full of "this and that are a joke" "That's wrong" "The Manager / Chairman / board / Committee must go" but they rarely offer up a better solution - and I don't mean "get sponsors and raise more money" because that is pie in the sky. I am talking about fully thought through and believeable plans! I read on www.welsh-premier.com today that the Newcastle Emlyn Manager has also now left them and joined Haverfordwest in the WPL in addition to Briton Ferry also getting a new Manager.

Here, here Legend 7 totally fed up of reading this persons crap.
If only people knew the time and effort that goes into running even an amateur club. Not sure me and my good lady would have stayed married this long mind you if it hadn't been for football.
It does always amaze me that the managers take all the blame for poor results.

Here, here, Legend! Well said!
Please, everyone, refrain from replying to Delph's bait. In Internet-speak he/she is a WUM (wind up merchant in real speak). Common traits of a WUM are: lack of interest in reasoned debate; broken record syndrome, inaccuracies in his/her rhetoric; and calling everyone 'mate'.
Anyway, back to the SUBJECT of the thread. How many of these managers were pushed, and how many resigned?
* Brazil was sacked (and re-employed) * Chesterfield resigned (citing traveling problems) * Andy Wilde (Briton Ferry) stood down (another forum mentioned personal reasons) * The Newcastle Emlyn guy left to join Brazil (the manager, not team!) * Not sure about Mark Sage though...?
I guess if managers resign there's little the club can do...?

Re: us - i'm sure the club will release a statement when ready.Read the whole thread Mr Guest The club has now made an official statement on the webiste. Barrie has left for personal reasons. Big shame as i thought he was slowly building a good squad of players that have a great team spirit (they all get on famously when i've been in the bar afterwards etc.). Plus Barrie is a thoroughly nice guy The recent 5-match unbeaten run was testiment to the improvement on and off the field. However, we have to respect his decision and move on. Hopefully the players will respond for Mark Evans and Mark Porter for as long as they're in charge.
