Has your ground passed? Has anyone heard anything?

Nathan - i've heard news that you're putting floodlights up soon. Well done to all invovled. I was hoping to visit your place but our clubs passed each other last season!

We've had planning permission for the lights and hope to make progress with this in the close season, again, watch this space!! I know quite a few of the Cwmbran players as their good friends of mine, would've been nice to have played you in the Senior Cup but we weren't invited in this year for some reason.... We've also had Lloyd Stone join us from Cwmbran and I see your results have picked up a hell of a lot since he left. I think we've done you a favour there but I don't think he'd agree....

That's great news regarding the floodlights Yeah, i thought that was odd especially when you consider we and Newport CS were, and we're below you... We stuggled when Lloyd left (conceded 8 in 2), and i was sad to see him go, but we've signed two new centre backs since - and that's coincided with our unbeaten run!!

Cwmbran were in the Gwent Senior Cup this year because they were one of the 7 highest finishers from Gwent last season - Newport County (Obvious), Caldicot (Div 1), Caerleon (Div 1), Cwmbran Celtic (Div 2), Croesyceiliog (Div 2), Newport YMCA (Div 2) & Cwmbran Town (Highest finishers in Div 2 from the relegated Gwent Clubs)
Plus Newport Civil Service who are the current holders of the trophy.
That is the criteria from now on apparently!

We (monmouth Town ) are still in it (the senior cup) from 2009.... undefeated for all eternity.

Cheers Legend 7 - guess that makes sense. Shame we can't have a larger competition than 8 clubs. Maybe with Newport County and the holders getting a bye into the second round... I much prefer this competition over the pointless League Cup

WL rules are garbage. Every club has to have 4 showers but they don't have to work or produce hot water.
Can't see our friends at Treharris passing the ground inspection if they do actually measure the pitch.

I am told most clubs that have been inspected have fallen down on pitch length.
A number of these clubs cannot extend their pitch. What are the WL going to do?
And yes they are measuring the pitches with a newly purchased measuring wheel.

I am not sure the Gwent Senior Cup is really the same standard as the Welsh League Cup I have to say. Don't let Croesyceiliog supporters hear you say that either mind

I think you're right Legend. But I think for us, the Gwent Cup is more interesting. A tie against a Gwent rival is more looked forward to that a League Cup tie with a non-Gwent side. Plus, there's a (small) cash prize for the winner and a potential home tie with the well-followed Newport County...
Re: inspections. Could the WL really chuck 2,3,4 etc clubs out of the league based on failing the minimum pitch size?! Surely FIFA's measurements will be fine?! Nuts...
