The sooner football will improve is if they bring in some of the rugby rules ie lose 10 yards if you react to the refs decision and the use of the sin bin for bad language/bad tackles etc. I feel sorry for refs who are continually sworn at and I believe if the FAW backed them by allowing them to use the rugby method it would improve things alround.

For me, the laws already exist to prevent it & it's not the FAW stopping referees from implementing the law!

Best referee by a country mile in the WL is Kevin Russell.
He talks to the players man to man, has a great sense of humour and explains his decisions if he has to during the game and is also open to discussion for constructive critisiscm or/and positive feedback post match.

Correction to last post, should be Discussion and should be writeup.
As for should referees be tougher, my club Ton Pentre have been bottom of the fair play league for the last two seasons, costing us well over£1100. WE ARE NOT A DIRTY SIDE BY ANY MEANS but I think we have a past eputation and it has followed us. A certain referee (this season) had had a warning for his handling of a previous game, result the following game,12 bookings, two reds and our manager sent from the dug out.To many referees think that they have had a good game if there are multiple bookings.. My original post was about whether referee Mike Dean should have reported Sir Alex for the manner in which he spoke to the match officials during the recent Newcastle match. There's a feeling that any other manager WOULD have been reported.
