What a performance last night by newport county youth team . Great football by the youngsters but oh my goodness the crows were woefull. A long season lies ahead for us as i see no pattern being set up by mr hughes and company, totally outplayed by the youth team ,yes the youth team , totally inept and and short of any ideas. If this what we can except this season i predict another relagation on the cards and hughes to be gone by christmas. The same people on the so called commitee have now overseen relagation 3 years running , enough is enough please can we have a change before its to late. Mrs chairwoman i know you have done your best but please hand over the reigns to someone who has a clue

I think we need Gareth Griffiths as chairman and he should bring Gary Proctor back. Bridgend Street won their division at a canter with loads of ex-Crows. What do you reckon guys?!

This meassage board should be renamed "The Cwmbran Town haters club"
I am a new member who has been told to log on to see some of the rubbish on here from people intent on causing problems.
Lets use this post as an example.
I was actually at the said game on Wednesday night as an neutral and a football fan and agree with your view that Newport County youth (with the exception of a goalkeeper who has been at Bury, Shrewsbury, Orient, and is also a Welsh international, a striker whio started his career at Ipswich, A winger who has today joined Gloucester City on the back of his display on Wednesday, and a defender who has played for Wales Schoolboys recently)where very good indeed, however does anyione need to be slating the team before a competitive welsh league fixture has been played. I spoke to a few people on Wednesday at the game and it appears that Cwmbran are trying to turn things around after a longtime where they payed stupid money for players, now they are no different to the majority of clubs, who dont have a penny to rub together. Yes they were a big club once but that has gone, and is it fair to continue to know them? i also understand that they have loads of new players who havnt played together and of the side that played i am told that 6 1st choice players were unavailable through injury or work committments.
Shouldn't we just praise Newport for the way they played football yes the correct way not launching the ball everytime they have it) and stop knocking people who i am sure dont get paid and do it because they feel somthing for thier club.
Those that are continually posting rubbish please stop!

Here here. Wasn't it good to see further evidence of the re-surgence of the County.
But lets keep things in perspective. County have spent a lot of money on their set up and thankfully it is working as they have been in the doldrums long enough.
Cwmbran are having their turn in the doldrums and unlike the County don't seem to have supporters just critics.
I don't see many of these posters saying let me help ,what can I do for the club.Obviously they are just knockers of efforts to resurrect Cwmbran. I am sure they are few in number working tirelessly. Lets hope their efforts bear fruit like the County.
In the past men of Gwent have been a force to reckon with. Obviously men of Cwmbran spend the day grinding axes

Superb post Unatached. Great assessment.
The core of last season's squad (which finished 14th - normally a safe position down the years) have re-signed, and some useful additions have been made, including striker Martin Houston, who was one of the missing 6.
We hope, whichever division we're in next season, to continue to grow and stabalise having seen a large turnover of players, managers and even chairmen in recent years.
It's a tough job. Trust me, i know people have wondered sometimes why they bother. We can but try.... Rome wasn't built in a season...

Thanks for the comments.
As i said i am a neutral but being local it does dissapoint me that Cwmbran are in the situation they are. People, as they have done constantly from what i have read on this website in the last 24hrs are very happy to knock the club and especially the chairwoman, who i am led to believe is working extremly hard behind the scenes for nothing (i presume) along with the current manager and i understand new coaches. Your are right Counting Crows "Rome wasnt built in a day" and if people really care about what is hapening with Cwmbran Town then get off your backsides and help them. I for one am happy to help re-build the clubif required. Stop knocking them and help and you never know what can happen

You are correct in your assumption that the hard work is being done without remuneration of any sort. Any money made goes into running the many teams we now field. At the moment we have no choice but to spend on hiring the stadium. We'd much rather invest in our own ground! If you're serious about lending a hand i can confirm that another pair on hands is always welcome behind the scenes and on match days. PM me if you fancy getting involved and i can point you in the right direction

Not the season before or last season (finished 14th), so once in last 3 seasons. If you care please come and get involved I know the people on the committee really well and they are always open to new people coming in and helping to run the club.
