Lee, since those couple of fellas criticised all members for not putting their real names on messages, everything has dried up. This is a pity because this forum has always been worth reading as it has been a pretty accurate view on Welsh league happenings. I know a few members have written 'over the top ' things about clubs but in the main, comments have been ok. We all know that if there were more secret ballots you would get a more honest result than the show of hands method when everybody is looking to see who is and isnt voting which can be quite intimidating for some. The majority of forums have the well tried and tested 'free choice' method which gives people a chance to give their real name or fictitious ones. Re Strategic plan I welcome them as long as clubs have the final say, if you can ever see that happening.

those 2 fellas as you say Barry Quinn, and Phil Preene spot on why on earth anyone would want to hide, and thats exactly what it is behind an assumed name is beyond me. We all know who you are fairplay have done since the start so why not put your real name Max, no secret is it ??

quite right Hugh as you said you knew who I was so whats your problem? You just dont understand what I said and the samples I gave as to why people can put down what name they like. I would suggest to you that you give your views to the majority of sites that work on this open principle. You might try and tell the Wales on line Cardiff City forum that they are all cowards for not putting their real names on the site. My Fairplay name sums up the standards I like and try to achieve. Come on lads and ladies get this site back on the road.

Nobody calls me by my proper name. They all call me this, and most people know my this. So for me, if i wanted to hide from people, i would be able to easily.

Huw - I couldnt agree more mate. Too many people on here are prepared to say things on here under their pseudonyms, that they would NEVER dream of saying to your face!!
That is why, if a comment is to have any credence or be taken seriously, it needs to be voiced by a real person with a real name, or it just suggests they have something to hide.

Give up Barry ,if people prefer to do it this way so be it. I would rather see a lively website than one being ridiculed and reduced to just a couple of messages a month. As Hugh says he knows a lot of people who have their own pseudonym so what is the problem. Maybe the many famous authors in the world who also use pseudonyms should abide by Quinns Law. I always maintain that as long as the writer is not abusive, doesnt make racist or homophobic remarks or any obscenities there isnt a problem. Our Webmaster doesnt seem to have a problem with contributors having pseudonyms so lets hope we see that 'normal service resumes as soon as possible'. Damn it, with that remark I have shown my age and should have added ageism to my list of no no's.

If thats your view Max, then you are entitled to it but its something we will never agree on, so I will leave it at that. Never have I mentioned Quinn's law or any other law. Im just talking about common decency and if you are uncomfortable with that, I cant do a lot about it.

Thanks Barry but I never have a problem with common decency and have never been warned for any comments I have made on any website. Anyway Barry, its nice to have a comfortable disagreement and I have to say what a cracking win you had on Friday night. All the best for the rest of the season.

This whole "put your real name at the end" is quite funny. If i sign my posts "Regards, Marcel", who does this help?
Who's Marcel? Do i need to upload a scanned-in copy of my birth certificate and passport as evidence?
How does me signing my posts "Regards, Marcel" make them more credible? No one can prove if my name is Marcel or not after all?!
As for the stratigic plan: sounds great. There's nothing controversial in there after...

How are thing's going with you CC. I see you had another loss at the weekend, so another year out of the league for you. It seems strange seeing you where you are now, and Cwmbran Celtic doing so well. Any news on finding another ground. All the best for the rest of the season.

To quote the FAW websit...."Our messages are clear; greater team work, better communication, a longer term perspective through evolution and winning more.” What exactly does that mean in simple terms? In my humble opinion...its one simple aspect that needs to be added the "plan" = money! Without the finance, clubs will not be able to plan for the future..the welsh fa need to spend more on grass roots football and better facilities... for example how many 3g pitches are there in Wales? you could probably count the number on one hand...and the majority of these are owned/run by the wru - without the facilities things will not improve! Rant over

agree with that statement lunchbox but how much revenue does the WRU bring in compared to FAW? my guess is a lot more. the majority of it probably comes from TV and the TV sponsorship for WPL is very small I'm guessing so that is where the money problems lies for me.

Rugby brings in more finance because BBC Wales and the Western Mail have always given the game far more coverage than football and that is what most sponsors are looking for.If a Welsh rugby international has a twinge in the leg the media go to town on it by reporting as a main story. If a Welsh football international does the same you are lucky to see any report. If you check with BBC Wales you will probably find the majority of their Heads of Sport have been rugby internationals and most of them non forwards. The 'old school tie brigade' have been running rugby for very many years and nobody in football have been able to beat them. In Welsh football we have never seen leaders in the FAW who have had the carisma or forward thinking ideas that would start making solid inroads into the media and commercial scene. The only person who did show this sort of initative was the late Alun Evans. To get more finance for the game we have to make the product more saleable and attractive to people. We have many people in the FAW who have been there to long and not now contributing enough ideas to move our game forward. For the life of me I cant understand why the FAW arranges friendlies against minor football countries when you see the WRU playing countries from the top flight and filling the Millenium Stadium. I am sure that Speedo would have been happier to have seen his team playing a top 5 country in the World than Costa Rica which I am sure would fill the Millenium and give great memories to everybody . I realise that Costa Rica was Speedo's first international but I think that because it was a cheaper option and easier to arrange the FAW went for it. If they couldnt get a top five country why couldnt they bring a world eleven together which would be a great spectacle and tribute to speedo. Anyway must stop this rambling but would be interested in your feedback.
