The first game of the newly formed FAW JD Cymru League Championship South takes place for the Reds at Glenhafod Park against Goytre Utd on Friday evening(7.30pm ko).
Both teams have completed a busy pre-season and competed in the Nathaniel Car Sales MG Cup in the last few weeks and will now be raring to start their league campaign successfully.
Reds manager Carl Shaw has made some shrewd signings in the summer with Brandon Yeap, Ross Hudson, Morgan Bevan, Declan Horgan-Evans, Craig Jones, Colin Harris and last seasons Division One top scorer Mark Jones arriving at the Old Road.
Having lost Tyler Brock to Haverfordwest Shaw has managed to retain all last seasons squad also and the manager has stated ' I am happy with the signings made in the summer and how pre-season has gone and we are all ready for the first league game come Friday.'
Former coach at the Old Road Lee John has also been busy in the transfer market with a number of astute signings and they now boast Division Two's top scorer from last season Liam Griffiths for his second spell at the club having signed from Pontardawe.
The game is sure to be entertainment for the neutral and hopefully we can get a good support up from the Old Road to cheer on the team."
