5th in Mid Wales First Division is equal on paper to 5th in Welsh League 2nd Division. On Grass it is probably equal to Top 5 of Welsh League 3rd. I have watched 2 of the MWL teams who have applied this season and they will struggle big time in the new format if selected. This is what I’m getting at, we don’t know what the criteria are beyond ground criteria, it’s all subjective allowing the FAW to just do what they want. For Example, a number of clubs are in a relegation battle in D1. Once the relegated teams are known, can they still be selected above other clubs ? Or are they out of the running ? Could a club like Taffs Well (if they got relegated for example) claim Sporting Achievement having won the League Cup several times in recent seasons ? Are Mid-Wales teams going to want to play down South ? I don’t think they’ll have the appetite for it. If they do, how do you decide between, for example, a WL D1 club who finished 10th and a Mid Wales Tier 2 club finishing 10th. Technically they have achieved the same, but we know that isn’t really the case as the standards are so different. The FAW should really set out the criteria they intend to use. This doesn’t affect the club I’m involved with, but it will next year when the Tier 3 clubs are decided. As previously posted, they’ve already botched the Huws Gray alliance by allowing 17 teams next season.

Does anyone involved with a Tier 2 club know when the Tier 2 application results will be known/published?
