How can you just move grounds half way through a season, I can understand if there is ground issues with the current ground but how can this be allowed

It is very expensive there well in excess of £300

Shameful that the league allows this.
They will be taken over by the university within 3 years.
We now have to go up to Aberdare instead of Cardiff which is a pain and possibly a disadvantage against other teams in the league who played at leckwith

It is very expensive there well in excess of £300 Surely they knew the costs involved and should have budgeted to see the season out there. Not fair on other Div1 clubs that Ponty are allowed to switch home grounds at this point in the season, especially bearing in mind that they were given the concession of playing no home games early in the season.

Good luck to Lee Kendall and Ponty town. His appointment shows ambition, be nice to see local council meeting Ponty to develop ground suitable for their ambition within Ponty area. What is position with Sardis Road council or rugby club owned ?

Council are not interested, been approached many times and claim to have no money. Ponty rugby are not interested, been approached a few times, also their new 3g isn’t marked for football. Last time they were approached, a little before they replaced the pitch, they more or less laughed at the idea of sharing. Possibly a bit daft given they are now trying to raise £100,000 via crowdfunding as they are skint.
Having been involved there for a few years I do have some sympathy for the situation. I’m guessing now that Kendall is involved it may help pushing a suitable ground at the Uni as I think he works there (not 100% sure though).

Shame. Particularly Rugby, if shared and "classed" as community use it opens up more access to grants, football / rugby / community etc. Boost bar takings etc and provide a real community hub for major sports in area, as well as senior rugby and football, mini rugby and football could thrive in town, Sardis road could become a thriving sporting community hub, with right people involved. Surely it wouldn't take much to mark for football. Cambrian and Clydach seem to have a blueprint surely applying their "model" to both rugby and football would benefit all in area, particularly with added advantage of University in area and the coaches they could provide for both juniour players and coaches development

Being a member of staff at CCFC I can tell you that the Pontypridd move has nothing to do with finances. The pitch at Leckwith is a special surface that mimics that at Cardiff City Stadium. It’s only allowed 12 hours usage a week. It was being overused and so CCFC have asked for sole usage and thus paying for the additional slots that Pontypridd were using!
I am led to believe a new ground and stadium is being built at USW Pontypridd which will eventually be their new home!
Good luck to Lee Kendall and his staff! Already made an impact and think they will survive now with him in charge

There is no planning and never has been any planning permission to build at USW grounds. When all those nice welcoming people at MK PONTY were confronted with this at the beginning of last season I was threatened verbally both in the street and online. It's all a farce and so is the club the Welsh FA for allowing such a move mid way through the season for them not having to spend money upgrading their invisible ground like so many other clubs have been made to do.
