According to the FAW, 52 clubs have applied for Tier 2 next season. I think 8 are from WL D2, no doubt those hoping to get into the top 3. Also some near the bottom of D1 who may be relegated, so that reduces the 52 down a bit. I don’t know enough about North Wales teams to comment on them.
But some clubs could find themselves relegated even if outside the bottom 2/3 of a division if enough Mid-Wales teams make it in. All change.

I'm sure it's been said before on here before but what will be the set up of the South Wales league be next season? (The top division) Who's in? Who's out?

It will be 16 out of the 52 who applied based on ground criteria and sporting achievement.

How many mid-Wales clubs could potentially be included in the first FAW Championship South & Mid Wales? (Subject to facilities, etc.) Presumably, this is the number of current Division 1 clubs who could find themselves relegated to Tier 3 in addition to the bottom 3?

Llanidloes, Welshpool, Caersws and Aberaeron are all within the top 5/6 of the Mid Wales league at the moment and all of these clubs have equivalent of Tier 2 facilities at present (perhaps with exception of Aberaeron who didnt have any seats last time I was there)

Also perhaps Welshpool would go into the Northern section as they are a bit further up than the rest.

Thanks, Nicky, for the facility update. It seems five mid-Wales (currently Tier 3) clubs have applied for Tier 2 status. Of these, Llanfair, Berriew and Caersws are at least as far north as Newtown (as a measure) and may therefore be more likely to be included in the northern section, if successful. Nearer our patch, Llanidloes are currently top of the table and Llandrindod sixth. Not sure of their ground status, but these clubs look more likely at present to present a threat to our Division 1 clubs. These are only my ramblings, other contributors may know better!

Llanidloes Town have very good facilities for their level, really good floodlights all around, two relatively big seated stands on two of the four sides... That's on one side and one about the same size on the other side. So numberwise they probably have enough.

Got a few supporters too. Probably not much else to do in Llanidloes 😂

Na, Gwent is full of those who only follow the village team. No real interest in the City centre. There is a regular following of County fans who came if County are not playing home.

Will Tier 2 be part of the Welsh League as it is now? We are in January and no-one seems to know what the setup for next season is going to be. Chase the egg went through this nonsense a few years back with teams only finding which leagues they were in when fixtures came out. Surely the set up should have been agreed last summer so everyone knew what to aim for or shout to the the rooftops about?

Last I heard, the two "new" divisions Welsh Championship North/Mid and Welsh Championship South/Mid would be run under the governance of the FAW.
What is currently Welsh League Div 2 & 3 to remain under the jurisdiction of the current Welsh League - and presumably be renamed Divs 1, 2 & possibly 3?!
Lord knows what happens with the SW Alliance?!
Anyone?

The setup, i.e. the new structure, was indeed finalised last season. It’s not really feasible to know what clubs will be in what divisions yet as clubs have been given time to meet the required ground criteria, I believe the deadline is 30 April.
As Nicky says, Championship North/South divisions begin next season and will be managed by the FAW directly. League 1 South East/South West begin the following season and will be managed by the current WL committee.
I assume the League 1 North East/North West divisions will be managed by the current Huws Gray Alloance committee, but I don’t know that for certain.
