And as is plainly obvious the club has no interest in the Town either. This is why the Taff-Ely and Rhymney valley league team has broken away to form the new Pontypridd Fc

So, nothing at all to do with the fact that no more than 2 weeks ago one of the managers of the team was on this very forum saying that the initial reason for the "break away" was due to the fact that the TERV League doesn't allow "reserve" or "2nd teams" to progress any higher than the division they were currently in. I wish them all the very best, any club that represents Ponty gets my backing - but to claim it as some giant moral victory against evil, when in fact it was born out of a bit of clerical administration rather than some kind of "re-birth" or a "conscious awakening" is over-egging the cake.

With all due respect having spoken to the manager, asst manager and those involved there were many reasons for the break away.having a team called Pontypridd in Pontypridd was high up the list .I've no need to embarrass your manager further but seriously Nicky if they moved to Cornwall and changed the name to kernow dragons you'd still approve.

"when in fact it was born out of a bit of clerical administration rather than some kind of "re-birth" or a "conscious awakening" is over-egging the cake".
Which is quite direspectful to those involved.

I have recently been made aware of this thread and thought it was in my interests to correct some details. I am part of Pontypridd Towns youth section, firstly our side of the club are run by a different committee to the first team and over the years we as a youth section have grown not diminished. We currently have teams at every age group other than U11s and U13s, we do have a youth side who play in the South Wales Youth League (We will have two next season). We also do have U12s side (I should know as I’m the coach of them). Our senior side have unfortunately not been aloud to be promoted to a higher division due to our affiliation with the first team. As of tonight our senior side will no longer be part of Pontypridd Town and will form a new team for next season, to allow them to gain access to the higher divisions "Now I know since you guys have got involved - the meaning has changed and the club now has a new mission statement and such - but to deny the above when Wheeler Jr. posted the above reason for the club's initial formation is being creative at best. Fair enough if the new mission statement is different, but to come out and claim differently when the initial reason was a "administrative separation" rather than some kind of "AFC Wimbledon good guys VS MK Dons bad guys" kind of thing, is wrong.

Tut tut its the pro boards Ponty Town bugle who Lives in Aberystwyth, attened around 5 games last season, but knows everything . Dont forget to text the managers with the responses. To be honest you didnt attend the meeting we "not real fans " did. And the move away from Pontypridd was high up the list of concerns as it was it is a concern with many on here. You dont know everything Nicky And your previous posts were derogatory towards the new club. Personally Ive had my fingers burnt with my experiences at Ponty Town and I intend to enjoy my football next season by watching whoever I feel like on the day. You continue with your role of Ponty Town propoganda minister and we,ll get on with watching football.

Come on people can we have an amnesty and stop the arguments. Surely you can all contact each other direct if you want to vent your feelings and get a resolution or at least know the row has gone as far as it can. I fully appreciate that there’s passion and upset involved here but what’s done is done and the only way is now forward for everyone in whatever direction you wish to take. 🤝

I fully agree,Im done with it.However Im sure fans of other clubs would feel similarly if their club was hi-jacked. Theres no interest in Ponty Town in the town which carries the clubs name. None of the people who agree with the clubs actions are either from Pontypridd or live in Pontypridd. In the words of the Pistols " Ever get the feeling youve been cheated ? ". Its a lovely sunny day and Il leave this here.

This is the thing, you keep saying stuff that blatently isn't true - and the problem is then that people believe what they read on here. The club secretary lives on Graig Hill, about 30 seconds walk from Wetherspoons - which is Ponty. The treasurer lives in Ponty - which is Ponty. When I started being involved, I lived on Broadway by the school, OK, which is admittedly in Treforest, but I could get to the ground within 10 mins of walking. There are a couple of new people around now, after my time - but I recognise them as being from Ponty, don't know specifically where. Max doesn't live in Ponty, but has been around the club for so long I think he gets a pass. Who is there that doesn't come from Ponty?
