Bridgend street v Caerau

Heard through the grapevine that a supporter ran on the pitch and hit a player at this game?anyone shed any light as it was nearly a full scale riot apparently?who's supporter hit who and why?surely a big fine and ban coming for someone!

What started as handbags between two players next to the dugouts quickly escalated when a Bridgend street fan jumped the barrier and struck one of the caerau players shortly followed by the idiots girlfriend. This led to a massive melee involving both sets of players and Coaching staff. The culprit left the field followed by a rather irate victim which led to another clash between players off the field. The referee decided to resume the game and Bridgend st came out deserved winners. What I will say for bridgend street minus the idiots all players, coaching staff and other fans were all in agreement in condemning the actions of two very stupid individuals. Nobody plays football to be assaulted by someone not even taking part on the day.

Doesn't sound good for Bridgend street then if that's the case,surely a big fine and points deducted for not controlling their supporters?

Bridgend street are the biggest culprits for having a parks mentality and an example of a club I'd like to see the back of in the welsh league! . I bet they'll see themselves as innocent in all of this though. zzzz

My brother has seen in the media somewhere that the game was held up for 15 mins in order for dust to settle and the ref then decided to play on. You would think Bridgend St will pay for the actions of the non-playing clown who came on to the pitch and made things 100 times worse in the wallet. Not so sure though whether they'll lose the 3pts.

Like you said Upton park probably just a hefty fine,terrible these days that this would happen at that level,hopefully they'll ban the said spectator and his girlfriend from the club,No need for actions like that in any sport.

I would bet that Bridgend Street say that they don't know who the spectators were.

In response I can regrettably confirm there was an unacceptable incident that occurred during the first half of the game.
The random unexpected actions of an individual marred a game that was played in good spirits until that point and once play resumed the game continued with both teams continuing to play in the right spirit which was a credit to both sets of players. The final whistle was met with the usual handshakes and both teams returned to our clubhouse.
We have acted internally and have proactively been in touch with FAW. As somebody mentioned earlier in this thread we (BSAFC players supporters and officials) were outraged and incensed by the behaviour of an individual and did everything possible to restore order as quickly as possible.The referee did a top job in managing a difficult scenario and he too accepted the invite for hospitality after the game. For those of you who have taken an interest in this I'm sure you will see the outcome on FAW panel updates in due course.

In all fairness it's great the Club have acted in that way and done everything right,It's unfortunate that with incidents like this the culprit stays anonimous and the Club takes the flack,won't be the individual that gets the attention but the club,hopefully he will pay the fine that gets issued to the club maybe he'd have 2nds thoughts the next time.Hope the club's reputation stays intact after this unsavoury incident.

Well done Bridgend St on coming out in the open with the alleged Bridgend St bully. I know it will all come out in the wash in a few months time on the FAW Panel verdicts, but at least they have admitted the intervention of this clown. However, the Caerau player who was allegedly hit could involve the boys in blue with a view to prosecution.

Ok some clown got involved on the field of play, this in my opinion does not give a green light for the players and management of both teams to start clashing with each other as this report clearly indicates not once but twice. Why didn't one or two players or management grab this clown and his misses and eject them from the ground. No need for the players to get involved, two wrongs dont make a right. It will be interesting to see the outcome of this one, its all dependent on the referees report I suppose.

One other thing the rules about this type of thing needs to be changed, we have now come to a situation where there are people watching a football match these days with no association with either club playing, how can a club be responsible for someones actions that they dont even know. I joked with a few friends not so long ago that if you hated a rival club you could always send a local thug to that match just to cause havoc knowing that that club would get in trouble and possibly fined. Now is that a fair system?

Fair point john1970 but apparently the culprit is a Bridgend Street player,so unfortunately the Club will suffer,which isn't fair as like all clubs they all need every penny to survive,and your also right.in your other point regards to causing trouble for other clubs,It's been going on for years and innocent clubs end up paying fines for others behaviour and to be honest I can't see how they can get around it,I hope in this instance the league and the Club throw the book at this idiot and ban him and also make him pay the fine.
