Griffiths now in the twilight of his career and unlike Trundle he lacks pace! Given that, he felt a lack of pace wouldn't be exploited so much playing at the back. Bont going to struggle at the back at Taffs Well on Friday night so I've been told. Griffiths facing 3-match suspension; fellow comedian Dave Allen going to get 2 matches off and they want Gethin Jones off the premises as he's past his sell by date. So, who plays centre-back against Taffs Well is anyone's guess. Might regret allowing Ateyo to bolt to the Goyt stables in Punt Talbet and Barney going to Windmill Lane. Still, it's what you expect from muddled thinkers and tinkerers.

I still love the idea of having ex pros and a professional outlook in welsh league. although he should hang up his boots i still prefer him to some of the parks managers and players floating around certain clubs. Does anyone know why so many penybont lads left and why they are down to the bare bones?
for a club of that quality its a hell of a situation to be in!

Griffiths has left a lot of skeletons in the King Cole Stadium cupboard, leading to a temporary bare bones situation. Obviously, things have been heightened by Griffiths and Allen being suspended and Marcus Griffiths injured. There hasn't been a mass exodus as Griffiths tends to stick by his chums and when injury free they have a settled side. Problem I've been told is that Griffiths tends to divide opinions and you either love him or otherwise. Some players got on the wrong side of him through no fault of their own and with no first-team call up imminent, they decided to exit. Penybont is a really "muddled" club just like Bridgend Town was in the old days and Welsh Premiership is light years away.

Rhys 'marmite' Griffiths and Gilo junior surely have enough ex pro colleagues to call on in their time of need. Clearly not!

Not going up, not going down, mid-table finish for Penybont beckons......so little point in splashing the cash now, is there? Even Penybont are surely bright enough to see this scenario.
