Has there been any decision by the £5 club as to which team they will be investing in (Monmouth or Cwmbran Celtic)?

Hi Tony. I think they're adding a poll over the weekend to make the decision.

From reading the comments on their forum, is should be a landslide in favour of Monmouth Town. Are the club willing to sell 51% to the £5 club? and how on earth are they going to get involved in committee meetings etc and the running when their for all corners of the globe, let alone the UK. Should be interesting.

I voted today, for Monmouth Town, on the principle that it allows upto 51% Membership. It would be after 5 years of investment, so Monmouth would have a good deal. I'd guess the way committee meetings etc would be run would be through a representative and matters to discuss at the meetings would have to be discussed/voted on before hand online... I hope it works, at least to the point of assisting a small club to grow. I have already put in more than I had to toward the venture, I like the idea

Just heard on radio wales that Monmouth have indeed been the club chosen by the five pound football club comitee. Lee Robson was also interviewed and confirmed that was the case. Be interesting to see how the club develop over the next couple of seasons. All the best to them, although many will now hate them even more!!! Chelski and Man City of the Welsh League?

i doubt that, there's only about 500 members of the £5 club at £5 a time, so thats a £2500 investment which is barely enough to pay one half decent player for a season!
